Alleged leaker fixated on guns and envisioned 'race war'

Source: Washington Post

The six-second video, taken at a gun range near Teixeira’s home in Massachusetts, affords a brief but illuminating glimpse into the offline world of the 21-year-old National Guard member, who stands accused of leaking a trove of classified military intelligence on the group-chat platform Discord.
The Discord Leaks

Previously unpublished videos and chat logs reviewed by The Washington Post, as well as interviews with several of Teixeira’s close friends, suggest that he was readying for what he imagined would be a violent struggle against a legion of perceived adversaries — including Blacks, political liberals, Jews, gay and transgender people — who would make life intolerable for the kind of person Teixeira professed to be: an Orthodox Christian, politically conservative and ready to defend, if not the government of the United States, a set of ideals on which he imagined it was founded.

Teixeira’s love of guns, which first drew him to an online community of friends, was intertwined with a deep suspicion of the government that he served as an enlisted member of the Air National Guard. But Teixeira did not consider himself a whistleblower, according to friends.
By the time of his arrest, filings by federal prosecutors show that Teixeira had amassed a small arsenal of rifles, shotguns and pistols, as well as a helmet, gas mask and night-vision goggles, all under the roof of the house where he lived with his mother and stepfather. The Post obtained and verified two videos taken at their home in Dighton, Mass., where the FBI arrested Teixeira last month.

I’m honestly surprised by how many people I’ve come across that are ‘totally not racist’ but *really* wanted to know if I supported white dudes running the military

No coincidence between the defenders of white supremacists being there at all…

And that the story is one produced in Hollywood, lasting 90-120 minutes.

Man, you aren't gonna get into a fight to the death with “a legion of perceived adversaries — including Blacks, political liberals, Jews, gay and transgender people." This isn't a fucking action movie where the protagonist overcomes the some evil cabal plus the cops, feds, etc. with just a couple of artfully placed cheek and forehead lacerations and face smudges. If you start using those guns, you're gonna die.

Russia calls itself the New Constantinople (old seat of church power before the Ottomans blew it off the face of the earth), or New Rome. The coincidental church-state blood sport fetish from the old imperial Romans is still alive and kicking. No thanks to that asshole Paul (Saul of Tarsus). Putting the torture device on the legionnaire shields as intimidation while simultaneously importing them into the church was a political and symbolic rebrand/fusion

Then more often than not it’s Russian or Russian adjacent. The OCA (Orthodox Church in America) was compelled to declare it had nothing to do with Moscow in the 70s due to Cold War tension but I think most observers knew that was a fig leaf over many members’ and leaders’ Putin worship (Putin came later technically but he was raised on his tactics and philosophy during that phase so I’ll just leave that abbreviation there). They came in via Alaska via Russia in the 70s and have been distributing propaganda since. The Greeks keep a wide berth for a reason, as do many other national churches (a lot of the orthodox churches predate the concept of internationalism or globalism entirely, it just doesn’t mesh with their structure easily).

The incest between them (the OCA) and the evangelicals started not long after. Mafia, mob, Klan, Nazi, and militia connections are also right next door and many younger douches can’t distinguish and are taught not to mind the gaps because of the focus on whiteness (also possibly nicknamed “god’s light”). Add in the right wing southern strategy (semi recanted via the author when he totally wasn’t interrogated) and some fraternities and presto, a church and state back door link paired to the since-rebranded-USSR. In flows the dark money, spy-vs-spy comm networks, and so on, often shielded by church and charity opacity. They get very touchy when you look at their money too… particularly if state and local law enforcement is in their pocket courtesy of old money or family ties

Obviously the Catholics and Lutherans and Protestants etc all have their own influence backstories and alignments… but this isn’t about them except when they’ve merged with the Red/Orange Borg.

There is only one good excuse to stick around or study any of that voluntarily.

“There is only one good excuse to stick around or study any of that voluntarily” — that’s actually what genuine scholars do, so the rest of us can educate ourselves. Or at least those of us who like knowing that sort of thing is going on in our benighted country. Possibly the FBI and CIA as well.

But your point about the average bozo getting his info from the dark corners of the internet is well-taken.

Life was a lot more fun when I was studying the rise of neo-Paganism and the Goddess movement 25 years ago, but I’ll ask anyway: are there some books or articles you could recommend about the OCA?

By the way, welcome to DU.

I’ve lurked since DU first began, it was part of my awakening along with re-runs of Charmed and Stargate ha. I miss the days before the internet metastasized.

But books I *recommend* yikes… not really. I have a sibling that took the more scholarly route to analyze it that may be able to give actual recommendations, but we both were mildly irradiated by the Gordian knot logic that comes from reading their materials first hand (I do not recommend diving in that way). My analysis came from dozens of books on other denominations and religions resulting in a DIY comparative studies project. With a bit of extra spice from other sources to illuminate the background as well.

However I do recall some articles on DU about the subject if you search for them: keywords OCA, Orthodox Church in America, KGB, Russia…

Here’s a good NPR write up from last year https://www.npr.org/2022/05/10/1096741988/orthodox-christian-churches-are-drawing-in-far-right-american-converts

A couple others for good reads

https://www.france24.com/en/europe/20230109-patriarch-kirill-the-politically-influential-head-of-the-russian-orthodox-church

And here’s one from one of the few (often shunned) Orthodox blogs that doesn’t shy away from criticizing these links, and it’s totally not a coincidence that the authors are located in Toronto instead of a US based university, they’d be censored in Florida for sure these days:

Ha. Limited emoji selection. The only dark beer I’ve really liked so far is one I *cannot* find again and it pisses me off so much. I’m not sure if it was a craft beer or a German raisin wine but it was super high gravity, malty with a caramel raisin finish, and *no hops*

I also like light beers if I’m going to chug a lot, I do not mind them gay either (no comment on the chugging that occurred in my earlier years)

High gravity. Reduces gettin up to pee all night for old farts. Here in Asheville the selections of craft beers are endless. Who could have imagined choices other than that watery domestic crap when I was a young lad. Hell, when Coores came east we thought we hit paradise.
Yea, chugging days kinda stopped after the Navy. Chugging 10 percent craft could kill ya.🤢🤮
Enjoy your Saturday, sipping any color. Low Hops.

In Asheville, Wicked Weed, Barely’s, Highland Brewing, High Wire, the choices are endless. Asheville has been called Beer City for a while. French Broad River Brewery right on the river with outside seating. No way I could list them all. Worth the trip.
Check out the once monthly outdoor free concert, “Downtown after Five” series. Closed street with amazing shows from 5 till 9+. Free. Many brewery’s have trucks, highlighting many beers, with lots of local food venders. 3rd Friday each month. Asheville is our dot of blue surrounded by Meadows Cawthorn country. Thank god we got somewhere to be human and have great beer and music. Good luck.
