Numerous Right-wing political observers went after Chick-fil-A after the chicken sandwich chain announced its renewed commitment to publicly embracing diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace.
Chick-fil-A put out a statement to speak about its company mission to care for customers and employees alike, a purpose they summarize as Better at Together.
We understand that the path toward Better at Together looks different for every business, the statement says. At Chick-fil-A, Inc., our commitment is to approach this work with intention and humility, always believing the best in one another and striving for common ground. Were early on in our journey, but were honored by the opportunity to steward our organizations greatest asset our people and are energized by the road ahead.
The statement was accompanied by another set of remarks from Erick McReynolds, Chick-fil-As Vice President and Executive Director of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).
Chick-fil-A restaurants have long been recognized as a place where people know they will be treated well. Modeling care for others starts in the restaurant, and we are committed to ensuring mutual respect, understanding and dignity everywhere we do business. These tenets are good business practice and crucial to fulfilling our Corporate Purpose.

(33,643 posts)Male and female. I don't mean to stereotype but ... being served by a 20-ish girl with dyed black hair, a bowl cut, no makeup, Dickie's jeans, numerous visible piercings and tattoos, and their wallet on a chain ... that sort of look is not hard to figure out.
Helped me feel not so terrible about going there occasionally. Even if corporate wasn't the best, it was pretty clear they didn't discriminate in hiring, at least not at that store.

(13,351 posts)I am skeptical of this "change". Until they stop donating money to fascist republican pigs,I will not eat there. When they start funding democrats and progressives and it goes beyond window dressing,I will find out how good chic fil a 's chicken sandwiches are.But not until they do these things.

I would starve before eating there.

(59,875 posts)I always wondered what all the fuss was about, since there was always a long line there. I wondered if their stuff really tasted good or it was just bigot loyalty, If the lines continue to be long, I'll never find out, but if I should by some chance be ther when I can get to order within 5 minutes of standing there, maybe I'll satisfy my curiosity some day.
In the meantime, since most of my airport visits are Düsseldorf, Paris, Barecelona, Zürich, Madrid, München and Amsterdam, my chances of eating at one of those places is zilch. Do they have them in points north, like Logan, La Guardia or either of the Washington airports? I guess there have to be a lot of them that are not at airports, but I rarely notice fast food places when I'm NOT at airports. If you've got a choice, after all...........

(4,741 posts)The original sandwich is a plank of battered and deep-fried chicken with a couple of dill pickle chips on a bun.
That's it. Plenty of other fast food joints do a better job with a chicken sandwich.
Nearly the entire food menu consists of junk carbs and grease. Now I don't mind some junk food every now and then, but I can find better elsewhere--and cheaper, at that.
