RFK Jr heaps praise on Elon Musk saying he is 'rescuing American Democracy' during Twitter event
Source: The Independent
Presidential candidate and anti-vaccine conspiracy theorist Robert F Kennedy Jr heaped praise on Twitter owner Elon Musk for defending free speech, during a Twitter spaces event with the executive on Monday afternoon.
Mr Kennedy, who has long promoted the discredited theory that vaccines play a role in causing autism, participated in a Twitter Spaces event on Monday and praised Mr Muk for his stewardship of the social media giant for supposedly stopping censorship of voices that dissent from orthodoxy.
I just want to tell you how much I admire you for that and how grateful I am on behalf of my country, he said. You would come here from another country and be a key instrument for rescuing American democracy and freedom of speech.
The forum is the second such event that Mr Musk has hosted with a presidential hopeful. Last month, Mr Musk hosted a Twitter Sspaces forum with Florida Gov Ron DeSantis as he announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for president in 2024.

Republican Elon Musk is not promoting RFK because they have similar views. He's promoting him because he wants to take votes away from Biden to help his republican party.

His wife Cheryl Hines is a great progressive and besties with Larry David. I cannot imagine how she (and her marriage) will get through this.
Hines is still with him.

(8,579 posts)She said she was happy seeing RKJ in his element . (Not exact words but something like that). Between his kids and her daughter, I think there are around 7 kids. A few months ago he said his kids work for him.
Interesting- Jack Dorsey just endorsed RFK Jr.
I dont believe Elon has endorsed anyone. I think Marianne Williamson will be on Spaces with Elon next.

(5,339 posts)The original paper, published by the Lancet, was retracted after it was found that the author, Andrew Wakefield, was a fraud and had financial ties to a competing MMR vaccine. (Wakefield subsequently lost his medical license) In addition to an unbelievably flawed study. But that's all it took for conspiracy nut-jobs like Robert Kennedy Jr to make a ridiculous career out of it. Subsequent trials PROVED MMR had no ties to onset autism, yet millions of idiots continue to campaign on it. Not getting children vaccinated has led to an increase of DEATHS from easily vaccinated and preventable disease.
There is, unfortunately, no shortage of stupid in America.

(86,053 posts)I was going to say that but you already did. It's also possible that the "candidate" has been cut off from much of the family wealth and a big infusion of cash may be what convinced him to run.
At any rate, what a sad asshole. I wonder if he was abused by clergy and he flipped out or something. Whatever it was, those who are backing him now selected him for a number of reasons, one of which is the absolute offense to the institution of elections.
