WASHINGTON Returning from a two-week recess, House Freedom Caucus members refused to say Tuesday whether they had kicked Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene out of the group of conservative hard-liners.
"I don't discuss that," said Freedom Caucus Chairman Scott Perry, R-Pa.
"I don't talk about membership at the Freedom Caucus," added a Greene rival, Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo.
"I'm just not gonna comment on that with all the world problems were having," chimed in Rep. Ralph Norman, R-S.C.
After two weeks of confusion over whether Greene, R-Ga., a top ally of former President Donald Trump, was still an active member of the group, Freedom Caucus members declined to provide any clarity Tuesday, calling the matter an internal issue..............................

(71,840 posts)... they can't live without each other. MT Greene can't join "mainstream" GOP circles with the freedom caucus hanging on her, and her base is mainly Freepers; and the caucus draws less attention without MT Greene.

(53,162 posts)If Marjorie would have taken Lauren out in the hall and called her a bitch, or gone over to Lauren's office and done it in there, that would have been fine. But on the House floor where everything done there is broadcast on C-SPAN, no that won't do.
She didn't get expelled for calling Lauren Boebert a bitch. She got expelled for embarrassing the GOP more than it already was.

(96,882 posts)Shes not a member of the Freedom Caucus, and she shouldnt be in the future, Rep. Ken Buck, R-Colo., said in an appearance on NBC News' Meet the Press NOW in some of the most definitive comments yet about Greenes status in the group.
Greene, a fundraising powerhouse with an enormous social media following, has been one of former President Donald Trumps top defenders on Capitol Hill. She is the first lawmaker to be ousted from the Freedom Caucus since it was started in 2015 by Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, then-Reps. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., and Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., and others.
Other members of the ultraconservative group had said a vote was taken June 23 to eject Greene over her altercation with Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., and her vocal support for Rep. Kevin McCarthys ultimately successful bid for speaker and his trillion-dollar debt-ceiling deal with President Joe Biden.
