Fulton county prosecutors prepare racketeering charges in Trump inquiry

Source: The Guardian

Hugo Lowell in Atlanta, Georgia

The Fulton county district attorney investigating Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in the state of Georgia has developed evidence to charge a sprawling racketeering indictment next month, according to two people briefed on the matter.

The racketeering statute in Georgia requires prosecutors to show the existence of an “enterprise” – and a pattern of racketeering activity that is predicated on at least two “qualifying” crimes.

In the Trump investigation, the Fulton county district attorney, Fani Willis, has evidence to pursue a racketeering indictment predicated on statutes related to influencing witnesses and computer trespass, the people said.

Willis had previously said she was weighing racketeering charges in her criminal investigation, but the new details about the direction and scope of the case come as prosecutors are expected to seek indictments starting in the first two weeks of August.

There's a lot riding on all these indictments coming down but RICO violations are exactly what occurred in this instance and it's possible to indict multiple people that tried to end our Democracy ( like you Ghouli and you Lindsey) and they may not be gotten to any other way.

Go Fani!

I wonder if Lindsey Graham was part of that “enterprise?”

I expect that this will be a RICO case in the state and in the federal indictments as well.

Prison system is really bad from an inmate perspective. So far worse than the Federal Prison System. Gregory and Travis McMichael, along with Roddy Bryan were convicted of murder in State Court. Then were convicted of Hate Crimes in Federal Court. They pleaded for serving their sentences in Federal Prison, but the State of Georgia would not release them to the Feds. If Willis can get a conviction on RICO charges against the Orange Shitstain, none of those Federal Trials, nor the NY Trial, will save his ass from serving the rest of his life in a shithole prison ran by the State of Georgia. This can be the most significant Trial that he faces.
