Customers report missing deposits from Wells Fargo bank accounts
Source: CNN Business
Los Angeles CNN Wells Fargo is dealing with a technical issue that has resulted in customers reporting that their direct deposits had disappeared from their bank accounts. On Thursday, a torrent of customers contacted Wells Fargo via Twitter, now officially branded as X, claiming they could not access money that they deposited into the bank. One person tweeted that he had been hit with an overdraft fee after money went missing from his account.
It was unclear how widespread the problem was Thursday night, but as of Friday, customer complaints about the issue were still being posted on social media, and the bank continued to respond that it was working on a fix. A limited number of customers were unable to see recent deposit transactions on their accounts.
The vast majority have been resolved and the few remaining issues will be resolved soon. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience, a Wells Fargo spokesperson told CNN on Friday. Wells Fargo has yet to say exactly when it expects to resolve the issue.
This isnt the first time Wells Fargo customers have faced this particular technical glitch. In March, Wells Fargo confirmed that some customers direct deposits were not showing up but that their accounts continue to be secure, according to an NBC News report.

(170,489 posts)at least here on the east coast. So people who used to bank at indies or regionals found themselves suddenly under Wells Fargo.
Here in Philly, Wells Fargo took over Wachovia (that had earlier been First Union, that was previously Corestates, and in my case, my bank was originally a First Pennsylvania that is no more).

The above is what our basketball/hockey arena went through.
I have an account at a credit union.

(170,489 posts)The one PITA for mine was although it was convenient when I was at work before I retired (it is a federal credit union) and they had a branch at my work building, once I retired, the branches were few and far between. They did open one a little closer to where I live a few years ago but it is still a little hike. There are some types of transactions were you basically had to go in person and that little branch had one of those "Video Teller" machines. They eventually upgraded their online app so I have so far been able to use that for one-off deposits.
I actually had gotten my car loan from that credit union and was able to actually pay it off when I retired and got a lump sum for unused annual leave (vacation time).

(13,003 posts)Anything, by WF, immediately brings suspicion..........They, like many corporations have been fined serious amounts of money these past years, for corrupt business practices, but the CEO's and Executives NEVER GET PRISON SENTENCES, they just collect their ill gotten bonuses. The fines never even come close to the profits the corporations make off of their frauds, so what do they have to lose....
AND the fines are tax deductions on the corporation's taxes! LOL
The Board of Directors of the Corporations just allow the CEO and executives to stay, and they all just keep on keeping on........
AND, as it has been for decades, (and continues), it will never stop until the DOJ, FBI, SEC, FTC, IRS, ETC start handing out PRISON sentences.......
Interesting, that I heard somewhere that if a CEO of a Japanese Corporation is found guilty of corrupt business practices, most often the CEO will commit Suicide because of the shame.........LOL, A U.S. CEO HAS NO ABILITY TO FEEL SHAME..... THE prime example of that is our former lardass president.........He mastered corporate corruption and avoidance of any penalty what so ever, and then ended up as the CEO of the Largest Corporation in America, the U.S. Government and went crazy with all the plethora of avenues for outright criminal fraud and corrupt grifting of anything and every thing Trump, his spawn, and Jared could lay their fingers on......
The realistic reality of all these indictments, is: Trump and all of us oldsters will be in the ground long before the appeals will be over, or it having reached the wholly owned subsidiary of the Republican Party, the U.S. Supreme Court.....

(27,209 posts)It was right across the street from the building I worked in. They have the best rates for borrowers. They are membership owned and we vote our boards and trustees and policy changes except what is required by law. We get financial info and are able to participate in special offerings from AAA, TMobile just gave us a great deal that I applied for and received. I have a life insurance policy thru them. Some of my friends have big bank names they do business with and squawk all the time but they havent changed over yet..too bad, I wish they would as theyd be happier.
