KYIV, Ukraine (AP) Russia unleashed a missile and drone barrage Sunday across parts of Ukraine that killed six people, Kyiv officials said, as Moscow followed through on its promise to retaliate for an attack on a Russian tanker.
Separately, Moscows second-largest airport briefly suspended flights early Sunday following a foiled drone attack near the Russian capital.
Ukraines air force said Russia launched 70 drones and missiles from aircraft over the Caspian Sea, including Iranian-made, Shahed-136/131 strike UAVs.
Three waves of missiles hit the Starokostiantyniv area, damaging several buildings and igniting a fire at a warehouse, said Serhiy Tyurin, deputy head of Ukraines Khmelnytsky region military administration. The strike may have been intended for the citys airfield, officials said.

(17,802 posts)It isn't in retaliation for anything other than the day ends in "Y".
They are just jackasses that we're going to fire those missiles and drones anyway.
They don't need an excuse. That's just propaganda.

(114,667 posts)if they hit anything but roads and graveyards, it's by accident. That's why they're squandering all this ordinance on cities, those are the only things big enough for them to hit.
It's why the nuclear holocaust frightens me so much. I'm afraid they'd miss and I'd have to live through it.

When Ukraine hits a legitimate target, Russia screams "terrorism," all the while hitting hospitals and churches in clear violation of international law.

I heard that the Ingrushetia region has very recently declared war on Moscow. This has been an ongoing thing, mind you, but how fitting can it be. Moscow may have to commit some troops to quell the "rebellion"--maybe they are heartened by what happened with Wagner, but they do have some weapons they can employ. This has been going on forever. They are right next to Checknya (sp). Checknya fought their own war against Moscow, but recently they have aligned with Moscow.
Next, we have that rocket that Belarus launched against Ukraine, leading people to wonder if Belarus is going to rejoin the war. They have been mostly silent since opening the war. The Balkan countries are very nervous right now, and Poland has an aggressive defensive posture.
Romania had parts of a rocket fall on its territory courtesy of Russia. So, majorly pushing it. You can see there's some kind of agreement and plan, but we can't quite see it.
I also heard that Russian citizens are pissed about the draft they have, and they are burning those offices rather aggressively.
So, trouble for Russia--Putin--and, I wish him continued hell in Crimea, too.
