An Ohio physician who sparked widespread ridicule in 2021 after spreading bizarre COVID-19 vaccine conspiracies to the House Health Committee by claiming the jabs magnetize their hosts and interface with cell towers had her medical license indefinitely suspended Wednesday. Anti-vaccine spreader Sherri Tenpenny sparked a firestorm in June, 2021 after making the comments, which saw 350 complaints sent to the State Medical Board. According to Cleveland.com, the boards decision was not based on the comments, rather on procedural grounds, citing Tenpennys refusal to cooperate with investigators during the inquiry. Dr. Tenpenny, neither you nor any doctor licensed by this board is above the law, and you must comply with the investigation, said Dr. Jonathan Feibel, an orthopedic surgeon and medical board member, according to the outlet. You have not done so, and therefore, until you do, your license will be suspended. A lawyer for Tenpenny, Tom Renz, described the investigation as a form of harassment on her free speech rights. Tenpenny did not speak after the announcement, however Renz declared, This appears very much like a lynch mob.

(7,921 posts)Proves the point, you can educate some people but you can't make them think.
Cue the predictable 'harassment' and 'free speech rights' background babble.

(4,741 posts)But she has no inherent right to a medical license. That's something she has to earn and then maintain by adhering to evidence-based standards and practices. So she can forfeit that license if she'd rather not adhere to the requirements for having her license. Or she can have it revoked for failure to follow said requirements.
Her choice.

(9,056 posts)haven't forgiven Ohio for Woody Hayes. I'm pretty sure somewhere the ghost of Woody is fighting with someone over something. Just for old times' sake.

(9,056 posts)Michigan just because of Woody. Just imagine Woody and Bobby Knight out on a drinking binge together at about 3:00 a.m. It might be alright if you could get them to turn on each other otherwise the two of them would be the ultimate in obnoxious drunks.

(6,619 posts)Anyone that lies should first be made to state "This is a lie" then tell there bullshit. They have the right to say it but also must identify it as a lie at the same time - otherwise it doesn't qualify as free speech.

(30,179 posts)but medical professionals spreading lies about treatments are dangerous and should be illegal. And of course, like her hero the orange one, if she had cooperated it wouldnt have to this point. Her actions led her to today, she can cry me a river.

(4,741 posts)That's an inherent right--one that can't be taken from you without just cause.
However, a medical license isn't a right; it's a privilege. The privilege can be taken away for refusing to follow the requirements for the profession. The most important requirement for getting and maintaining a medical license is demonstrating the necessary training in, and adherence to, evidence-based medical standards and practices.
She decided that her delusions mattered to her more than her license, so she can live without that license to her heart's content.
She's now free to spew her nonsense all she wants, but she won't be doing it as a medical professional. Because she isn't one.

(4,741 posts)Otherwise you would know that plenty of traitor thugs have sat through science classes to become doctors, because you'd have first hand experience with how all of that training does absolutely bugger all from curbing the lust for domination over women.
I'll safely state that every woman on DU can tell you horror stories about the many misogynistic traitor party doctors she's encountered over her lifetime.

Anyone know what her speciality is?
