Ex-Trump aide Stephen Miller's legal group files complaint against Kellogg's 'woke' programs

Source: NBC News

A legal group run by former Trump aide Stephen Miller on Wednesday requested that the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission investigate the Kellogg Company over its policies and programs that the group said are "infused with woke ideology."

In a letter sent to the EEOC, America First Legal Foundation’s senior counselor, Reed D. Rubinstein, wrote that Kellogg's, a publicly traded company, "engages in unlawful employment practices by seeking to 'balance' its workforce based on race, color, national origin, and sex."

"Instead of equality of opportunity, which Kellogg’s defines as 'giving each person the same things,' Kellogg’s employment practices are unlawfully based on 'equity,' which is a euphemism for illegal discrimination," Rubinstein said.

Specifically, America First Legal — which Miller founded with former Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows to challenge "the radical activist left" — said it takes issue with the company's promise "that by the end of 2025, it will achieve an 'aspirational gender parity goal [sic] of 50/50 at the management level' in its global operations," adding that it offers a leadership development program "only for women."

Yes, Disney has more capital but people choose to go or not to go to Disney. Its a discretionary decision.

People do not stop buying Corn Flakes, Frosted Flakes, and Fruit Loops even when the economy sucks. And Kellogg has been in business a LOT longer than Disney, meaning it likely has legacy resources it can tap into if needed to support any projected legal fight.

Reed D. Rubinstein has written on Federal Overreach for the Federalist Society. He was a core legal advisor to the Trump administration agency leadership during and after their transition in 2016-17.

I suspect you'll find his fingerprints on many TFG policies much as you will Miller's.

43. Yes, Kellogg is pretty WOKE... from the Kellogg Wikipedia page:
Fri Aug 11, 2023, 02:59 PM
Aug 2023

- In October 2019, Kellogg's partnered with GLAAD by "launching a new limited edition "All Together Cereal" and donating $50,000 to support GLAAD's anti-bullying and LGBTQ advocacy efforts". The All Together cereal combined six mini cereal boxes into one package to bring attention to anti-bullying.[29]

- In January 2020, Kellogg's decided to work with suppliers to phase out the use of glyphosate by 2025, which some farmers have used as a drying agent for wheat and oats supplied to Kellogg's.[30]

- In 2016, Kellogg Company urged President-elect Donald Trump to "continue the Paris Climate Agreement".[119]

- The company also decided to remove their advertisements from the Breitbart News website.[121] Breitbart News in turn called for a boycott of Kellogg's products.[122]

- In January 2012, Kellogg's gave the Calhoun School a $250,000 grant for a "three-part youth-based project on issues of white privilege and institutionalized racism".[123]

Are they a perfect company? No. There have been a few lawsuits about claims of misleading consumers: 😄 e.g.:

- 2021 Pop-Tarts lawsuit
A class-action lawsuit was filed against Kellogg's in October 2021 claiming they are not putting enough strawberries in their strawberry flavored Pop-Tarts, and seeking $5 million in damages.[99] In April 2022, the lawsuit was dismissed by a federal judge.[100]

Another lawsuit was filed against Kellog's in 2021, with the plaintiff claiming that Kellogg's defrauded customers regarding the contents of its Frosted Chocolate Fudge Pop-Tarts. The plaintiff stated she would not have purchased the Pop-Tarts had she known they did not contain milk, milkfat, or butter. In June 2022, a US district judge dismissed the lawsuit, stating that a reasonable consumer would not expect those ingredients.[101]
