Naval Chief Retires -- Leaving Navy, Army, And Marines Without Leadership Amid Tuberville's Abortion

Source: Forbes

The third major military retirement of the summer leaves the U.S. Navy as the latest branch operating with only interim leaders as a singular senator continues to block hundreds of military promotions and nominations from progressing through Congress in protest of a Pentagon abortion policy.

Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Mike Gilday retired on Monday and his successor, Adm. Lisa Franchetti, will only be able to fill his role in an acting capacity until Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) ends his six-month streak of blocking the confirmations of high-ranking generals and admirals.

Franchetti, the first woman nominated to run the Navy in U.S. history, was appointed interim chief Monday and joined Gen. Eric Smith of the Marines and Gen. Randy George of the Army as interim chiefs, both of whom are stuck in the same holding pattern since their nominations were blocked in the Senate in July and August, respectively.

Franchetti — who has been second in command of the Navy since last fall — will be able to perform the duties of the chief of naval operations until she is confirmed, but cannot hire someone to fill the vice chief role or issue planning guidance to members of the Navy until she is confirmed.

Then, in 2024 they install Trump or some other totalitarian, he appoints RW Federalist fanatics to head all the military branches, then establishes a military coup, and we end up no different than North Korea, Russia, China, etc etc etc.

In all actuality, not a lot different than what they pulled with the US Supreme Court

Evil people never do anything constructive, but incompetent they are not, and they work very hard, almost non-stop, at their evil, that is why they are so successful.

What has happened has been extremely well Masterminded. It has been well orchestrated, planned, organized, and executed.........starting with the corrupt and treasonous "installation" of Ronnie Reagan.......

And they are still going Full Steam Ahead, regardless of the opposition......Very Frightening...........

I often say: These Repub Politicians must not have kids or grandkids, or truthfully, must not care about anything but themselves.....

Lincoln said it best hundreds of years ago:

"A Statesman is looking forward for future generations, a Politician, only until the next election"

are rules for congress people, senators, the presidency, and of course the supreme court. We need stricter rules that allow for more accountability, and ways to curtail stupid behaviour like the one from this jackass Tuberville.

Can someone please explain why it seems that nothing can be done to stop the jackass from kidnapping the military?

Take Tuberville (Q-Racist MAGAts) to the proverbial woodshed and straighten him out on this? Even his constituents are sick of this blockade, from what I understand.

Tubby might be a covert agent. That pos is endangering our military and has really no viable reason why.

It’s bad enough he lives in Florida while supposedly representing Alabama in the Senate.
He is is tied with Ted Cruz as the worst senator in my opinion.

along with e.g. Thom Hartmann, tubby might well be clearing out military command in anticipation of a red don installation in 2025, to give his master a clean slate for appointment of fascist-friendly military leaders. Remember that it was Gen. Milley who thwarted some of red don's plans to use the military to seize control of the U.S. and remain in power after his electoral defeat.
