An Atlanta-area grand jury indicted former president Donald Trump and 18 of his associates on criminal charges related to their efforts to overturn Trumps 2020 election loss in Georgia, according to documents made public Monday night.
The charges came after a high-profile investigation, led by Fulton County District Attorney Fani T. Willis (D), and a marathon day in which multiple witnesses were spotted at the Fulton County Courthouse, signaling that investigators were closer to unveiling an indictment Trumps fourth since leaving office. The grand jury returned an indictment at around 9 p.m. Monday but the document was not made public until about two hours later.
