Former Trump attorney Jenna Ellis is crowdfunding her Georgia indictment defense fees
Source: NPR
Jenna Ellis, a conservative media figure and former attorney for Donald Trump, is crowdfunding her defense fees after being indicted along with the former president and 17 others earlier this week.
Ellis posted a link to her crowdfunding campaign on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday evening with a quote from attorney Mike Melito, who she says is representing her.
"We will fight for Jenna. If you would like to help support our efforts please consider donating by clicking the link below," the quote reads. "America and the profession of law are worth the fight."
NPR reached out to Melito, who owns a law firm based in Denver, multiple times to verify the quote and his representation of Ellis, but did not hear back before publication.

Start of the grift as her former "employer" will be sending her and the others right under the bus.
She was censured by the Colorado Chief disciplinary judge this past March - https://www.cbsnews.com/colorado/news/colorado-attorney-trump-legal-adviser-jenna-ellis-censured/

(3,533 posts)The GiveSendGo website is mentioned in the Tweet embedded in the NPR article, and it shows that she has raised a bit over $14,000 so far. In other words, almost nothing (though it just started today) - and I doubt she'll be getting much more as a result of this DU post.
Of note, 222 people have signed up to donate for her and 1270 have signed up to pray for her, so I guess any judgment about how well she's doing depends on how you keep score.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
