Rudy Giuliani Floats New 'Scientific Evidence' to Prove Innocence
Source: Newsweek

Rudy Giuliani said he has new "scientific evidence" that will corroborate claims of widespread election fraud and prove his innocence after being indicted on a dozen charges in Georgia. While on WABC's Sunday morning program, Giuliani responded to a caller who questioned how he could prove that he was not part of a criminal conspiracy to interfere with Georgia's 2020 presidential election.
Giuliani, the former New York City mayor and longtime confidante of former President Donald Trump, discussed his legal strategy during the radio segment. Newsweek reached out Sunday night via Giuliani's podcast website to try and get in touch with the mayor for comment.
Last week, an Atlanta-based grand jury indicted 19 peopleincluding Giuliani, Trump, and former White House chief of staff Mark Meadowson state charges in connection to their alleged efforts to overturn the result of the 2020 presidential election in Georgia. Giuliani lashed out against the Georgia indictment where the former mayor and the other defendants are accused of orchestrating a "criminal enterprise" to overturn Trump's loss in the state, calling it "an affront to American Democracy."
All of the defendants were charged with violating Georgia's Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization Act (RICO). Giuliani faces 12 counts, seven of which he shares with the former president, including conspiracy to commit impersonating a public officer, conspiracy to commit forgery in the first degree, conspiracy to commit false statements and writings, conspiracy to commit filing glaze documents, and others.

Thank you Rudy for making it really easy to prosecute you before a jury.

(18,511 posts).... evidence trDUMP intended to release Monday 8/21/2023 - before his lawyers told him to shut-up and cancel his press conference ?
Now the evidence has been handed down to Roody - to get the "evidence" of prevaricating lies out there to convince the public of their total innocents in the act to overthrow American Democracy.
Now it is Roody's job to get the bogus message out for general consumption by the idiot base.

But sending numbers to another state then back again with very differing results is not what happened for Trump. Also without Ohio, W wouldn't have won. Kerry only needed Ohio to beat W.... Unlike Trump that needed multiple states to win.

Three of the most prominent rightwing groups that spread election denial lies and advocate for restrictions on voting rights in the US have joined forces in a secret attempt to woo top election officials in Republican-controlled states.
Led by the Washington-based conservative thinktank the Heritage Foundation, the groups have created an incubator of policies that would restrict access to the ballot box and amplify false claims that fraud is rampant in American elections. The unstated yet implicit goal is to dampen Democratic turnout and help Republican candidates to victory.
Details of the two-day secretaries of state conference held in Washington in February were obtained by the watchdog group Documented and shared with the Guardian. Officials from 13 Republican-controlled states, including 10 top election administrators, participated in the event. Attendees discussed controversial election integrity ideas of the sort weaponized by Donald Trump.
(snip)
The keynote speech was given by Ken Blackwell, former secretary of state in Ohio. He was an early adopter of Trumps lie about rigged elections, championing the idea in the 2016 presidential race which Trump won. Blackwell now chairs the Center for Election Integrity at the America First Policy Institute, a rightwing thinktank led by former Trump officials. The center has been touting election-related model legislation.

(661 posts)Even if there had been "wrongdoing" by the Dems would that have made the suborning govt officials to break their oath, attempting to defraud the state with false electors, tampering with voting machines, etc all legal?
I can see some possible mitigation due to intent, but I would think it still comes back to two wrongs (if there had been a Democratic "wrong"
don't make a right.
If the Democratic "lies" had been as successful as the defendants claimed, then Trump and cronies still broke the law by trying to overthrow the legal (if "wrong"
status through illegal means.
Or that's my non-lawyerly take on it.
