Ex-Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio gets 22-year prison sentence, longest yet from Jan. 6 riot

Source: CNBC

Enrique Tarrio, the former leader of the far-right group Proud Boys was sentenced to 22 years in prison Tuesday after being convicted of seditious conspiracy to disrupt the 2020 presidential election certification on Jan. 6, 2021.

Tarrio’s sentence is four years longer than the second-longest prison term received by any of the 1,100-plus people who have so far been charged in connection with the Capitol riot.

The Department of Justice sought to put Tarrio behind bars for 33 years, saying he used his skills as a “naturally charismatic leader” and “savvy propagandist” to organize and execute the plan to forcibly stop the peaceful transfer of power from former President Donald Trump to President Joe Biden.

A defense attorney for Tarrio had asked the judge to issue a sentence of no longer than 15 years.

While he should have gotten the max; 22 years is nothing to sneeze at!

Imagine being stuck somewhere, and for that long!
You can't come, and go as you please (within the parameters of your life) which most people find pretty essential for a good life (obviously with possible adjustments in terms of accidents, possible disability).

Add then there's a pretty strict routine, etc.

Even a "country club" prison is still prison. It is a "gilded cage".

like this should be enough to not follow anything they say. Unless of course someone is a bonehead too. They go to army surplus/survivalist sites and buy themselves some sort of poor man's tactical vest and strap it on them as they march around. They buy little bits of this and that and stuff it in the pouches etc. Like this clown Tarrio. I mean look he's got the vest on with nothing really in it except his drink and a flashlight over on the side. Was tough guy afraid it was going to get dark during his speech? Maybe that reddish/orange thing is a communication device/heart monitor/who knows sort of thing. Then he's got some weird thing with a hose hanging in front of him like maybe a respirator? But to let us all know he's cool if you look on his right collar and just below you can see a couple of pins he put on himself.

My favorites in this sort of crowd though are the ones who can't find camo in their size or didn't order right and then they have to wear it anyway and so it's either tight like it shrunk and they're wearing a belly shirt or it's so big and loose that their hands barely poke out of the sleeves and the legs of the pants are so big they look like a gaucho.

Just before they shot Private Eddie Slovik for desertion, Slovik said to the people preparing him for execution,

"They're not shooting me for deserting the United States Army, thousands of guys have done that. They just need to make an example out of somebody and I'm it because I'm an ex-con. I used to steal things when I was a kid, and that's what they are shooting me for. They're shooting me for the bread and chewing gum I stole when I was 12 years old."

I suspect they're not REALLY throwing Henry Tarrio in prison for 22 years just for his role in the January 6 attack, as substantial as that role was. They're locking him up for 22 years for all the shit he has pulled in his life.

I also feel he won't do the whole 22. Inmates are highly intolerant toward police informants, and Tarrio has a long history of that.
