'You're Not My Boss': Mike Lindell Lashes Out at 'Rotten, Horrible Lawyers' and Judge in Deposition

My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell lashed out at the “rotten, horrible lawyers” and a federal judge during his deposition as part of a defamation lawsuit from former Dominion Voting Systems employee Eric Coomer over his claims that the 2020 election was rigged.

At the beginning of the deposition, after a lawyer told Lindell to speak slowly so the court reporter could take down his words, Lindell shot back, “Don’t sit and scold me already, mister. I’ll do whatever I have to do.” Throughout the rest of the deposition, Lindell hit the lawyers with insult after insult.

“You’re just a lawyer, you’re an ambulance-chasing lawyer, so don’t start with me. I got all day,” he protested. “I’ll take as much time as you want, so let’s go. You’re not my boss, you’re just a lawyer, frivolous lawyer.” After one of the lawyers asked Lindell, “Why did you call me an ambulance chaser?” the My Pillow CEO replied, “Because you are. This is a frivolous case and if you’re representing this guy and you’ve read this case, you are a disgusting lawyer, period.”

Lindell continued, “I can’t believe anybody would take this. This is absolutely disgusting, it’s a disgrace to our country, it’s a disgrace to you.” Upon being reminded that “there’s a federal judge that’s going to likely be reading and watching this deposition,” Lindell said, “I don’t care. She should have dismissed this a long time ago. She hasn’t ruled on that, there’s a problem. I got a problem with her too.”

I remember one particularly egregious segment on o e of the broadcast networks where they cut away from a policy speech Clinton was giving to show the Trump plane landing and then taxiing and the. Just waiting for several minutes with nothing happening until Trump came out. I think on his way to a rally. I’m not sure they ever went back to Clinton, just had talking heads talking about Trump.

No media outlet reported on his crooked real estate dealings in New York or explored his several bankruptcies or reliance on Russia for financing because no US banks would lend to him because he had stiffed them several times. The media allowed him to maintain his fake reputation as this wealthy, very successful businessman, which he emphasized to his low-information voters.

The NYT even published an excerpt from the trash book, Clinton Cash, which any editor there with half a brain would have known was nothing but lies about Clinton based simply on the right-wing conspiracy loving author.

I don’t know how we survive with so much of the media on one side’s politics, and it isn’t ours.

Would it make a difference if Lindell really believes the oral myiasis he’s spreading?

I know the old adage ‘it’s not slander if it’s true.’ Claims that the election was stolen are nowhere near true. But unlike the others repeating the claims, all of whom know perfectly well they’re full of shit, Lindell really does appear to firmly believe this stuff.

I’m not, in any way, shape, and/or form, saying I want Lindell to be let off the hook. I’ve said before that I feel differently about him - his capacity seems diminished - but he can’t be allowed to keep harming innocent people with the megaphone some media outlets have provided to him, and he should face serious financial consequences for what he’s continued to do.

Serious question from a non- lawyer, though - is ‘I fervently believe what I’m saying’ any sort of defense?
