McCarthy to endorse Biden impeachment inquiry, setting up possible vote

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by JudyM (a host of the Latest Breaking News forum).

Source: The Hill

Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) will endorse an impeachment inquiry into President Biden this week, a source familiar confirmed to The Hill, setting the scene for a formal vote in the chamber — even though it remains unclear that there is enough support to launch a formal investigation.

McCarthy intends to tell Republican lawmakers that House Oversight Chair James Comer (R-Ky.) and House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) have found enough information to back up the need for a formal impeachment inquiry, the source said.

He will also argue that the launching for a formal inquiry will aid in their effort to try and get a hold of bank records and documents related to the Biden family.

The House GOP conference is set to meet behind closed doors twice this week: on Wednesday and on Thursday. During Thursday’s meeting, Comer and Jordan are scheduled to speak about their investigations.

I'd say that McCarthy is pitiful, but he would have to improve seriously to make it all the way back up to pitiful.

Fetterman: "A big circle jerk."

R you kidding me? Their witnesses did show up and they have produced zero evidence too.

Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) had some blunt words for Republicans who are pushing to impeach President Joe Biden: It’ll bite you in next year’s elections.

“Go ahead. Do it, I dare you,” Fetterman said during an interview with a handful of reporters in his Capitol Hill office on Wednesday. “If you can find the votes, go ahead, because you’re going to lose. It’s a loser.”

“It would just be like a big circle jerk on the fringe right,” the senator added. “Sometimes you just gotta call their bullshit. If they’re going to threaten, then let’s see it.”

They'd have to actually work for their owner/donors' money, so that they don't look incompetent.

But they are. The whole thing will be a national farce.

You've tried all the 'traditional' methods of effecting a Coup d'Etat, might as well try this!

But before you do, could you take a pause in your sedition and pass a budget? Much thanks.
