Mike Johnson's Wife Takes Down Website That Compared Being Gay To Bestiality, Incest
Source: huff Post
HuffPost first reported on Kelly Johnson's counseling service that likens LGBTQ+ people to people who have sex with animals and family members.

...............
HuffPost reported Friday that Kelly Johnson, the wife of the Louisiana Republican and newly elected speaker, is owner and CEO of Onward Christian Counseling Services, which promotes Bible-based pastoral counseling. Her website featured a link to its 2017 operating agreement, which lays out the companys corporate bylaws ― and states that the business is grounded in the belief that sex is offensive to God if it is not between a man and a woman married to each other.
It specifically puts gay, bisexual and transgender people in the same category as people who have sex with animals or family members, citing all of them as examples of sexual immorality.
We believe and the Bible teaches that any form of sexual immorality, such as adultery, fornication, homosexuality, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, pornography or any attempt to change ones sex, or disagreement with ones biological sex, is sinful and offensive to God, reads a passage from the eight-page business document....................

(17,999 posts)My sister played the "love the sinner, hate the sin" card with me when I tried to explain why her lesbian granddaughter (my great niece) unfriended her on FB and went no contact with her.
Sis had never made any secret of the fact that she considers being gay "sinful," but just couldn't understand why granddaughter cut her off, wailing "But I still love HER!"
I tried to explain that someone's sexuality is part of their identity and when you reject a part of someone's identity, you can't expect them to feel loved or respected by you. She. Did. Not. Get. It.
Her granddaughter still has no contact with her because of her narrow-minded attitude, and I'm pretty sure that's not going to change. Guess who the loser is? (Hint: not granddaughter).

Most liberal Christians ignore that the whole thing is basically sexist and male-centric.

Now they would start the new year studying the New Testament. A family friend overheard this and told her, "when you get done, you'll be a Democrat!"
She didn't respond. Either she didn't understand what he was saying or she didn't like what he was saying.

(4,741 posts)Agnostic isn't a religious position. It's a knowledge position. You do realize that most atheists are also agnostic...right? Even Richard Dawkins is one.
Really.
Agnosticism also isn't some wishy-washy medium between atheism and theism. You believe in the existence of deities (theism) or you lack that belief (atheism). Just like being pregnant: You can't be halfway pregnant. You are or you aren't. You believe or you don't.
So which one is it?

1. Take a specific part of the Bible literally.
2. Expand and voice implications.
3. Say how horrible that is and say you are fighting against that.
4. Ask for donations.
ExWhoDoesntCare
(4,741 posts)All followers of a supposedly holy book take some part of it literally, expand and voice implications from that, and etc. Even the most benign and liberal believers take some part of the book literally. For instance, even that nice CofE grandma who bakes biscuits for the vicar every Sunday believes that the demigod being a real person is a literal fact, and expands/voices implications from that.
So how is her practice any different from that of the American Taliban traitor thugs?

(6,761 posts)How could God be God if the actions of Humanity could offend God?
No, we can offend other people, but not God.
The trouble with Humanity is that too many people have decided what God thinks, and what "offends" God.
Think about it. Angels are sexless beings. They live forever and don't have to reproduce to sustain their species. Down here in 3D we only live a short time and have to continue our species through sexual reproduction.
The concept of homosexual immorality is irrelevant to an Angel, since they see life as continuous.
For them, love is what drives relationships, not sex. If two people of the same sex love each other, it's simply an artifact of 3D life and is of no real consequence in Heaven.
From the point of view of your immortal Angelic existence, it has no basis for being a sin.
The sin is when we treat people badly for being homosexual.
The sin is when people who claim to be Christians condemn and punish people for things that harm no one and are of no consequence outside of 3D life.

(4,741 posts)And condemning and punishing is at the very core of the chrisitian religion. What do you think hell is, anyway? Worse, that punishment is forever. Do you comprehend how much rage, hate and cruelty it takes to torture someone a few minutes, never mind for an eternity?
Worst of all, the demigod made it perfectly clear that it doesn't matter what you do in this life, really. No matter how good and kind you are, if you don't believe in the demigod and follow his ways, well, it's permanent torture for you. He says it, in big red letters. Do you want me to scrounge up the verses for you?
Because I can.

(10,957 posts)I love this little gem she put out there : "Sex is offensive to God...."
They actually believe that.
Sooooo, if their imaginary being is so offended by sex, why did he create it?
I wonder if their super daddy in the sky gets all upset and offended over animals and fish having sex? You got to wonder why they imagine he created sex in the first place if it is so offensive? Their imaginary being really needs to be better thought out.
patphil
(6,761 posts)For the most part the Christian bible is the uninspired word of men.
Condemning and punishing as the core of Christianity is a prime example of this.
The sad thing is that so many people believe this.
Jesus taught a path of love, compassion, and forgiveness. Most of that is lost on today's fundamentalists.
Hell is the deliberate, wilful choice to reject God's love. God doesn't condemn anyone to hell. It's their choice to live a loveless life that separates them from God. We have free will, and can choose to fail.
Scrounge up all the verses you want, but you should understand that these are the words that loveless people write. God has nothing to do with it.

(5,986 posts)is that people vote for government and therefore get the government that reflects what they want. So, loony fake xtian views are what people want because the guy got elected.
That's per my dumbass maggot neighbor. I asked whether he had ever heard of minoritarian rule, gerrymandering, voter "suppression", voter purges, etc. etc. etc. Troll farms? Bots posting to social media? The answer was, of course, no. The guy is catastrophically ignorant, yet supremely confident that he's 100% right about everything, and that life was PERFECT under red don.
This is the level of ignorance and dumbassery we are dealing with, and why I'm now convinced this country will turn fascist, and why I'm already regretting recently buying a house in the U.S. instead of moving abroad, which was my original plan.

The new House speaker and his wife have long worked together in their political and business lives. In the early 1990s, they were the face of Louisianas new marriage covenant law when they went on national television to endorse it. In the past couple of years, they have co-hosted a podcast called Truth Be Told, where they discuss politics and social issues from a conservative Christian perspective. Theyve done 69 episodes so far.
