Politics White House open to new border expulsion law, mandatory detention and increased deportations in talks with Con

Source: CBS News

Washington — The Biden administration on Tuesday indicated to congressional lawmakers that it would be willing to support a new border authority to expel migrants without asylum screenings, as well as a dramatic expansion of immigration detention and deportations, to convince Republicans to back aid to Ukraine, four people familiar with the matter told CBS News.

The White House informed Senate Democrats that it could back those sweeping and hardline immigration policy changes as part of the negotiations over President Biden's emergency funding request, a roughly $100 billion package that includes military aid to Israel, Taiwan and Ukraine, as well as money to bolster border enforcement and hire additional immigration officials.

Western democracy will be deeply harmed all across the EU and elsewhere if he’s allowed a win or draw in Ukraine. He’ll be back in a few years for more land with a bigger better equipped military. We will lose our standing as an ally that is in it for the long haul…very dangerous!

Because President Biden is first and foremost a humanitarian and cares what happens to the ppl of Ukraine that are being slaughtered by their aggressor neighbor

... for everyone to acknowledge the elephant in the room regarding asylum seekers at the border with Mexico. It's Bedtime for Ronzo's seriously undeserved reputation as some sort of conservative demi-god.
Let us hearken back to the long-ago 80's, when Ronnie made a back-door deal with Iran to sandbag the release of the hostages to make Carter look bad, and in exchange he would sell them weapons. The money from those weapons became an end run around Congress when they wouldn't fund the interference to disrupt some Central American country's DULY ELECTED Governments because they refused to bend the knee to American corporate interests. So Reagan whispered in the ears of the respective opposition parties, "How would you like us to fund and train some death squads so you can run things the way we want them?" Bit of an oversimplification, yeah, but that was the essence of it. As a result, Central America became a bloody swamp of failed states run by gangs and drug lords.
And that is what these asylum seekers are fleeing. This country owes those people a huge debt, and the Republican swine that enabled Reagan have no intention of paying it.
I've said it before and I'll keep saying it: The Republican Party has metastasized into a terrorist organization, and no one that still supports these psychotic monsters deserves to call themselves Americans, never mind patriots.

End of rant.
