Source: Politico
On the witness stand in federal court Wednesday, Freeman described how Trumps attorney, Rudy Giuliani, falsely accused her of manipulating ballots in the 2020 election a smear campaign that prompted a torrent of threatening messages and upended her life.

(8,006 posts)a way to catch these people who use their phones or devices to make threats against other people. There is caller ID technology and if the police can tract people's whereabouts, can they not at least ID the jerks making these threats and charge them? Somehow those using the mail?
Okay, I'm ignorant as to what is possible or the means needed to ID these creeps but just think what even a few successful prosecutions might do to discourage this repulsive and surely illegal behavior.
To our great misfortune and that of Democracy, these threats have pretty much succeeded in their intended effect, i.e., discouraging poll workers, members of school boards and possible candidates for various offices and those elected, IOW anyone who might threaten the MAGA terrorists, their orange god and their growing embrace of fascism
