Biden responds to Trump's 'rot in Hell' comment: 'Love your enemies'

Source: The Hill

President Biden on Thursday responded to former President Trump’s Christmas post with a religious message to love your enemies.

Trump’s unusual Christmas message, which he shared on Truth Social, called for various people he sees as “looking to destroy” the nation to “rot in Hell.”

Biden shared an article from The Hill about Trump’s post on X, formerly known as Twitter, and added a message to poke at the former president.

“There’s an expression they say in church sometimes: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you,” the president said.

I’m not Christian and I agree that you don’t need religion to be a good person but I’m not sure even good people often love their enemies, do good to those who hate them, bless those who curse them or pray for those who mistreat them. Jesus expected a quantum leap in goodness from his followers. He certainly didn’t succeed with most of them. Trump is full on eye for an eye.

Biden has been underestimated his whole career. He speaks softly and DOES not carry a big stick. He is everything Trump is NOT. Just Joe's experience alone should tell the tale, but he's a husband who lost his wife--a father who lost two children and is now dealing with a troubled son who is trying to straighten up. His love for his family and his compassion speaks for itself. His love for his country is fierce. Joe is everything Trump is not. This country is damn lucky to have him as we continue our slow descent into Maga Hell.

NOT.............................

and Trump's alleged 'christian' supporters do not understand their own religion,
and now believe that 'Jesus was too woke'....

Anyway, the book beside tRump's beside which he "does not read",
was written by Adolf Hitler.....

Guess we ought to send him the New Testament 'on tape',
since he can't and does not read any books....

I’m Presbyterian. I’m a great Christian. True. True. I’m the best leader.

The above quote is from a typically unhinged interview back in 2015, in which he claimed to be a champion of animal rights (of all things). The whole thing is here: https://kirschnerskorner.com/2015/11/01/exclusive-interview-donald-trump-on-animal-rights/

As far as I can determine, that is his biggest recorded brag about religion (so far). But it wouldn't surprise me at all to hear him describe himself as the most religious person, the greatest Christian ever, because he always claims to be the best, the greatest, the most _____ whatever it is that's under discussion. That's all he knows how to do!

I'm not saying Biden shouldn't show the class he showed, but he could have used this as an opportunity not to quote the book of fantasy but to show how unfit someone full of revenge is to lead this country.

Oh, and keep your fucking religion out of politics. In ALL cases.

I used it with difficult patients with a great success rate, feeling like one is kicking a kitten becomes 8ncomfortable for most of us.

TFG isn't difficult, malignant narcissists are impossible. Best thing to do with them is run away when you spot them.

I give props to Biden for trying. Maybe it will get through to some of TFG's alliance.
