CNN Former Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows has asked a federal appeals court to reconsider its decision rejecting his bid to move his Georgia election interference criminal case to federal court.
A three-judge panel of the 11th US Circuit Court of Appeals unanimously ruled last month that Meadows could not move his case to federal court because the conduct at issue in the indictment against him was unrelated to his official duties as chief of staff.
Now Meadows is asking the appeals court to rehear the case en banc, meaning the case would be heard by the full court. Should the court decline to rehear the case, Meadows could appeal last months decision to the US Supreme Court.
The panels decision is profoundly wrong it defies text, precedent, and common sense and profoundly consequential, attorneys for Meadows wrote in a filing Tuesday evening.

(102,793 posts)Weaponizing everything against us, most notably, the laws that protect us from them and tyranny. They will use every little phrase in every law to reinterpret for their gain. The war is on and we'd better be on our game here. Every word matters now.
But I am optimistic about the next few months, I suspect that a couple advantageous surprises are on the horizon. Though many call it woo, astrology is actually an ancient method of timekeeping, perhaps the oldest, and few major "events" are upon us, some only occur once in 120-135 years, some take millennia. One of the latter takes place on the 20th of this month and it's a biggie, Pluto enters Aquarius only hours after the Sun does, right after they occupy the same coordinate in the sky. Sun and Pluto taking the same steps together like dancers in a waltz, in a very crucial location,
is a once in millennia event. It's the actual beginning of the "age of Aquarius" mentioned in that song. It's really a thing and it's happening, now.
The big take away is that a massive change/shift in humanity is upon us and this is the time to fight for our rights because universal energy is favorable for us to succeed to the point we may actually succeed in taking a 180 in almost every aspect of our existence, every one of us. The Sun represents our most personal selves, Pluto represents our most profound inner core beliefs yet the entirety of humanity as well. It also represents death and rebirth. This whole event is the beginning of the time of change, purging, comeuppance. I'm looking forward to all of that but, because humans are not neat about shifts, some of it will be pretty painful in profound ways. The bright side is that with effort toward reclaiming our future, we can succeed beyond our best intent.
I use this timekeeping method to navigate my weird life, it has helped me through some rough times by helping see what to do in times of challenge and presents a realistic view about the outcomes of my efforts, half based on timing. Not a belief system, a form of timekeeping that humans have used for millennia, because it's a useful tool.
Anyway, I see a great comeuppance aiming hard for certain faction and I won't feel sorry for them when it happens, could be ugly to watch. And it will begin to look a lot like progress in that direction the coming weeks. We're seeing indications already with trials soon to begin.

(4,625 posts)Meadows is desperately trying to get to Federal court because if he succeeds, then and only then can Trump pardon him. As it stands, Meadows would be at the mercy of the GA Governor or GA state pardon board.
"Federal pardons issued by the president apply only to federal offenses; they do not apply to state or local offenses or private civil offenses. Federal pardons also do not apply to cases of impeachment. Pardons for state crimes are handled by governors or a state pardon board."

In the real world, I KNOW the pres can't do anything about state courts and their sentences.
