Senate Democrats scoff at Biden's Israel arms sale

Source: The Hill

Some of President Biden’s top Senate allies are criticizing the administration’s moves on Israel, including the latest approval of arms sales to the military that bypassed Congress while also calling on Israelis to wind down months of intense fighting.

Just before the new year, the Biden administration for a second time in a month approved a provision that would transfer weapons to the Israelis without congressional approval. But, top U.S. officials for weeks have publicly called on Israel to ensure civilians remain out of harm’s way as the death toll in Gaza rises into the tens of thousands.

Its been my gamer tag for well over 15 years. Nothing to do with neocons as they are a thing of the past and has been replaced with something more sinister and more ignorant.

I keep seeing articles about groups of people not happy with the continued funding to Israel's military.

A national muslin group has stated they won't support Biden in 2024.
I guess young people also are saying the same.

I wish Pres. Biden would not keep funding Israel's military against Gaza. The decimation of Gaza and it's people is horrific and intolerable!
I see the pictures of the rubble. People have no homes or infrastructure to go back to, plus they are prevented from fleeing to safety in another country.

IMO

Netanyahu hasn't been quiet about it.

Continuing to send munitions while asking nicely for them to stop killing civilians is fucking idiotic. What does Biden think they're going to do with those weapons?

No other country wants them. Has any Arab country welcomed them? Nope. Is the U.S. offering to take them? Nope

Who has said they want no Gazan refugees.
No other country has offered to take any either.
When your main export is terrorism few countries will welcome you.
Israel hasn't "prevented them" from leaving, they'd welcome it.

I'd hardly call them "Biden's top Senate allies."

Van Hollen and Kaine focused on the process in their criticism.

That is what they are saying

It's Clear to Everyone Gazans Must Be Destroyed, Israeli Lawmaker Says
Israeli lawmaker Moshe Saada from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party said on Tuesday that recent widespread calls to "destroy" the residents of the Gaza Strip affirm that the right-wing was right.

with an explicit Israeli Government policy of Gazan genocide. They are not the same thing, and these fanatical RW Israeli pols should STFU with their apocalyptic language because it keeps convincing you it is the same.

Do you believe that Biden, Blinken, Sullivan et al know there is an explicit Israeli policy of genocide, to kill 2.3 million people, and are OK with it?

The IDF warned Gazan civilians for several weeks before the launch of its major ground operation in October to evacuate themselves from northern Gaza, and placed 70,000 phone calls, sent 13 million text messages, left 14 million voice messages, and dropped 7 million leaflets urging civilians to evacuate temporarily for their safety and informing them about humanitarian pauses and precise evacuation routes.

But the simple fact is, innocent civilians have, are, and will be killed in the Holy War Israel has declared.

What is a big emotional stumbling block for most Americans and the rest of the world, is that the USA is supplying money and weapons to make this happen.

And from a distance, it looks very much like what is happening is ethnic cleansing and a scorched earth policy from the Israeli government as a whole.
You think the other countries in the Middle East are just going to accept that?
I certainly don't.
I believe Israel will be fighting its Holy War on a number of fronts before too long.
