Ex-Trump Aide Reveals 'Scary' Moments He Wanted People Killed

Alyssa Farah Griffin, who served as White House communications director under Donald Trump, said a shocking courtroom hypothetical about presidents ordering people killed may not be so hypothetical when it comes to her former boss. Attorneys for Trump this week argued that presidential immunity means a president cant be prosecuted unless impeached and convicted first ― even in a case such as ordering the assassination of a political rival.
Farah Griffin, now a co-host of The View, called that claim scary when it comes to Trump. The problem is with Trump this isnt super outside of the realm of possibility that we would be in a scenario like that, she said on Wednesdays show, then elaborated:
When he was told his VP had to be evacuated from the Capitol for his own safety, he said, basically, So what? Then he said he deserved it when there were Hang Mike Pence signs. He alluded to Gen. Milley should be executed. He, in a meeting I was in in the Oval Office with a dozen other staffers, said that an aide should be executed for leaking something negative about him.
So this is a man who will push kind of every boundary thats out there, she said.

Still think whole story about trump choking SS is BS. ( trump would NEVER in a Zillion years want to go mingle with armed thugs at Cap). And why would SS come running back to WH to tell HER?

(3,582 posts)behind the curtain that is far more entertaining to me. Trump, like Hitler and Goebbels (and Putin), is a frustrated (and talentless) artist. They make the world their stage. It's hard to tell the actors from the audience (which is the real magic in this theater of the absurd). I can't say I suspect CH of being an actor, at least not at first. To which troupe does she belong? The thing is, historically, time itself is the enemy of any performance. The theater changes, the script changes, the actors change, and it's impossible to keep a show going forever. I think Trump's final act played out on January 6. But, like all megalomaniacs, he can't let go of the thrill. Nor can he believe he ended being the antagonist rather than the protagonist. So, he has fashioned a sequel. Yes, there are the rare examples of sequels that surpass the original (Godfather II, Empire Strikes Back). But these are one in a million and this current performance is more like Pumpkinhead II.
I totally exhausted and tortured that metaphor! Suffice to say I agree with you're suspicion. Someday, many years from now, I believe this current American Saga will be our greatest story, surpassing the Civil War, the World Wars, our original sin, and the Pax Americana. We are living through an age that will define the world for the next and most important era for humans. I hope we have the spittle for it.
Did I go too far? LOL! Pour me a drink and let's talk about it!
Peace

(42,770 posts)Is an excellent question.
To start, have to say it struck me as super odd that these two guys ( one a SS agent who didn't say a word) rushed back and HAD to tell HER. Why her? Did they know she would blab? Did they think she was a locked in supporter?

(22,557 posts)That was before the insurrection and attempted coup. At that time, he was loudly and vociferously proclaiming the election was stolen, flailing around hatching plots and filing bogus lawsuits, and just generally making it clear that he had no intention of leaving office. It sounds like she decided not to stick around to see what was going to happen, and I really can't blame her.

(9,345 posts)Yes, he was the Archbishop of Canterbury. It was Henry II who said those words.
Henry and Becket had been drinking buddies, and Henry appointed him to the archbishopric in order to get a co-conspirator in that position of power. Didn't work that way. Becket grew a spine.
I sure wish some Trump** appointees woud grow spines.

These days he's probably more involved with the Russian mob.

(41,492 posts)It was right after that (less than 24 hours later) the cops tear-gassed the peaceful protestors outside the White House fence.
Chump came out with Bible in his hand and walked over to Saint John's Episcopal church next door to the White House. Gen. Mark Milley and White House staffers accompanied Chump on the walk, and it was all for a photo op. General Milley later said he regretted that he agreed to do it, because there was no reason for a military person to be involved.

Are people in this country like this airhead living in some Wizard of Oz fairy tale land? It's the only explanation. I know well educated people that have voted for the Orange Orangutan and will voter for him in 2024, they are completely clueless as to the dire immediate risk this man poses to our freedom, security and prosperity.
And there are plenty of people that just go on playing with their electronic toys with their biggest concern which show they will binge watch next. Almost half didn't vote in 2016 and 2020. Nation of idiots.
