Texas's Abbott encouraging criminal white extremists to come to border, Latino rights group says

The countrys oldest Latino civil rights group on Monday accused Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) of inciting extremists to commit acts of violence amid escalating tensions between Texas and the federal government over border management. League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) National President Domingo García warned that Abbotts rhetoric could incite violent bigots like the shooter who killed 23 people and injured 22 others in an El Paso, Texas, Walmart in 2019.
False and inciteful political rhetoric from Governor Greg Abbott is agitating people to possibly commit acts of violence and mass murder. We urge our members, especially those in Texas, to be on alert for armed out-of-state extremists with a hate agenda, said García in a statement.
The 2019 attack, a premeditated act specifically targeting Mexicans, marked a key moment for many Hispanics, who saw xenophobic rhetoric translated into violent action against their community. Garcías warning comes in the wake of reports of a group called the Take Our Border Back Convoy organizing rallies, starting Monday in Virginia Beach, Va., and planning convoys to Texas.
We strongly condemn any violence as we call for everyone to be in honor and have clean hands. This convoy is meant to bring our country together in love, kindness and in peace. We call on everyone to respect our public police, sheriffs, law enforcement, military or anyone in a public authority position, reads the groups declaration. The LULAC statement released Monday makes specific reference to the convoy and reports that at least some of its organizers called themselves Gods army.

(7,770 posts)either Florida or Texas was going to push a constitutional crisis to the point where civil war or secession is going to be uttered and/or proffered. I feel it's by design, especially in Abbotts case. I'd like to ship 'em all to Russia, since that's where the impetus for all this is coming from. Let Putin deal with his maga fans. I'll bet he'll have a different opinion of them within a week.

Horrible, do these states supporting Texas realize what they are doing?

(23,682 posts)Just like the mess in Congress - the Rs do not want Biden to have a win; they want it to prolong itself until after the election. Should TFG win, the border bill will suddenly sail through the House (probably with some key modifications)
Also, Tim Dunn and the Wilkes brothers provide endless amounts of money to Republican candidates. Watch the film "Deep In The Pockets of Texas" which is about them. Dunn and WIlkes are also up to their eyeballs in Christian Nationalism.
Check out two You Tube channels: Chris Tackett and Christopher Tackett. Loads of info about Texas' big money donors, and Christian Nationalism. Chris and his wife have done a deep dive into this stuff with the objective of exposing it, and they have done an excellent job.
Now if Domingo Garcia is in this fight as national LULAC president, they are in for a fight. Garcia is pretty fierce and doesn't pull any punches. He is the best known Hispanic attorney in the entire DFW metroplex and has a huge practice with offices in Dallas and Tarrant counties.
