Biden warns of a 'nightmare' future for the country if Trump should win again, and lists reasons why

LAS VEGAS (AP) — President Joe Biden on Sunday ticked through a list of reasons he says a second Donald Trump presidency would be a “nightmare” for the country as he urged Nevada Democrats to vote for him in the state’s presidential primary this week and for his party at large in November.

Biden opened a campaign swing with a fundraiser where he focused on Trump’s ample history of provocative statements — his description of Jan. 6 rioters as “hostages,” his musing about a former top military officer deserving execution, his branding of fallen soldiers as “suckers” and “losers,” his wish to be a Day One “dictator,” his vow to supporters that “I am your retribution,” and more.

Then it was on to a community center in a predominantly Black section of Las Vegas, where he told his crowd of several hundred that “you’re the reason we’ll make Donald Trump a loser again.”

Biden said the stakes were huge when he took on Trump in 2020 — “what made America America, I thought, was at risk’ — and they are even larger now as a likely rematch looms.

Inoculation against anything Trump says. Trump predicts market crashes and border crises, we've got the bigger picture.

That Mr. Johnson in the House has me worried though. He's intransigent. Incompetent, but rigid minded. Find a way around him. Biden should go Executive Orders on the Borders. Trouble is Abbott is backing up little Mr. Johnson.

Remember this is only part of the Congressional wheelhouse because Biden is trying to get funding for Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan, etc., and the GOP is holding that hostage in exchange for attaching it to a "border bill" (which is what the Senate has crafted and presented for consideration and a vote).

Doing "Executive Actions" (Orders) can run afoul of the courts and they won't solve the "where does the money come from to do this" piece.

DACA is one of the few "border/immigrant" E.O.s that survived several court challenges although it's currently in limbo, with no new applicants permitted to join the program until the court issues are resolved.

One all our D Politicians could use on the campaign trail, so every American would hear what we're fighting for
ie: Democracy. Maybe frame this election as the poor against the ultra- wealthy, here's one that just popped
into my small brain..... "Don't be a sucker or loser, vote D only"

edit, added one.......

"Thoughts & prayers solution to everything isn't working"

Just offer thoughts and prayers for the border, same as they offer for school shootings.

Remember that our candidates are dealing with different factions of our party who have different subjects that are at the top of their "wants and needs".

"Democracy" is one issue (but not for everyone).
"Reproductive rights" is another issue (but not for everyone)
"Gun Control" is yet another issue (but not for everyone)
"Control of climate change and addressing negative environmental impacts" is also one (but not everyone)
"Social Justice" covers yet another large demographic (but not for everyone)
"Economic and wage reform" factors in quite a bit (but again, not for everyone)
"Availability and cost of healthcare" (still a big issue even with the ACA but now with out of control drug prices, but not all)

So when you go down the list, it can get unwieldy.

Each candidate needs to "target" a message to the demographic/demographics in their districts.

I expect something might go "viral" this year though!

I'll bet that really gets under his thin skin.

No. Biden doesn't need to create executive orders on the border. Congress has legislation that they can pass today. Making Biden do this is falling right into their hands, then they will scream overreach. It is Congress' job but they refuse to do their job. The ball is in their court, and rightfully so.

Biden is playing this cool, pointing to the legislation the Senate has already crafted whenever he is asked. Put all of the pressure on the House now where it belongs. It's not Biden's job to do their job for them and to save their assess from their own inaction.
