An appeals court rejected Trump's claims of immunity in the federal election subversion case in the District of Columbia, although he intends to press the same argument in Florida, where he also faces federal charges for mishandling classified documents, and the ex-president issued what appeared to be a "blackmail" threat against his Democratic rival.

"If a President does not have Immunity, the Opposing Party, during his/her term in Office, can extort and blackmail the President by saying that, 'if you don’t give us everything we want, we will Indict you for things you did while in Office,' even if everything done was totally Legal and Appropriate," Trump posted on Truth Social.

Trump has made clear that he would use the Department of Justice to target his enemies if re-elected, and he listed some of them by name..............................

Blackmail doesn’t even apply here. Extortion is the only word that remotely works:

The word extortion refers to the act of getting something from someone through violence, threats, or other forms of coercion. The word blackmail typically refers to a specific type of extortion in which a person demands payment under threats of revealing secret information.

So he’s attempting, and poorly, to get Biden to drop the charges through the threat or payback. “Give me X or I’ll do Y to you.” Extortion. Plain and simple, but as usual, Donnie Dumbfuck screws even this up…for all the obvious and logical reasons.

When Trump asserts this defense, it will first be heard by Cannon who, I have little doubt, will find that citizen Trump has all kinds of immunity.

The appeal will go to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. The decision of the DC Circuit Court of Appeals is not binding on the 11th, which can decide any way it likes. If its decision is contrary to the DC decision, there will be a split in the circuits which will all but guarantee that the Supremes take the case up.

It's also possible that the Supremes will review the DC opinion. The Florida immunity claim would get put on hold pending word from the Supremes.

The Office of Counsel to the President was created in 1943, and is responsible for advising on all legal aspects of policy questions, legal issues arising in connection with the President's decision to sign or veto legislation, ethical questions, financial disclosures, and conflicts of interest during employment and post employment. The Counsel's Office also helps define the line between official and political activities, oversees executive appointments and judicial selection, handles Presidential pardons, reviews legislation and Presidential statements, and handles lawsuits against the President in his role as President, as well as serving as the White House Contact for the Department of Justice.

...the corporate media does actually need to have viewership numbers to justify their programming.

If a large enough loss of viewers was attributed to trump-related content, they would stop that content.

but having absolutely nothing, as usual. Biden will just laugh at him, long, loudly, and publicly.

Even now, he can mention he doesn't have the power to make all TFG's legal troubles go away. The only way to do that is not to have committed the crimes in the first place.

Wasn't that one of Michael Cohens jobs?

How many private investigators does trump have on his payroll?

Cohen - Trump ordered him to make 500 threats over 10 years

Prosecutors do not prosecute because they are instructed to by the POTUS. They do because there is overwhelming evidence that a crime has been committed.

Sorry that reality is too hard for your little brain to comprehend.

Spills out his reasoning, he shows how ignorant he is.

"If a President does not have Immunity, the Opposing Party, during his/her term in Office, can extort and blackmail the President by saying that, 'if you don’t give us everything we want, we will Indict you for things you did while in Office,' even if everything done was totally Legal and Appropriate," Trump posted on Truth Social."

They can do that right now. Obama could have prosecuted W for torture and spying on American citizens. Ronald Reagan was prosecuted for the Iran-Contra affair....though he was too far into dementia to remember anything.

So presidents have and can be prosecuted for breaking the law while president. It hasn't made the office weak or ineffective.

that you think that that scowl, the one you clearly practice endlessly in the mirror, makes you look MANLY, TOUGH, FEARSOME. It doesn't. It makes you look pathetic, constipated (I understand adderall can cause constipation, but then, so can a crappy diet). A tablespoon of olive oil every meal should help. Pity you don't eat greens. .some nice poke salad. .maybe a little water hemlock. . very tasty.

that Trump would plot and try to carry out revenge on anyone who stood in his way to greatness.

Top of the list would be Joe.

Would the DOJ go along with that? I doubt it somehow.
