Special counsel says Trump and co-defendants 'will stop at nothing' to delay classified docs trial

On the same day that a special counsel announced he was not recommending classified documents charges against President Joe Biden, another special counsel accused former President Donald Trump and the co-defendants in his own classified documents case of a "relentless and misleading" ploy to delay their trial.

Special counsel Jack Smith, who has been investigating Trump's handling of classified documents as well as his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election, wrote in a court filing Thursday that Trump and his co-defendants in the documents case "will stop at nothing to stall the adjudication of the charges against them by a fair and impartial jury of citizens."

It's not the first time Smith has leveled such an accusation at Trump; in November he said that Trump wanted to delay both federal cases against him "at any cost." But Smith's latest salvo comes as Trump appears to be on the verge of locking up the Republican presidential nomination -- and the chances of any federal trial starting before the election appear to be dwindling.

Smith's filing came within hours of the release of special counsel Robert Hur's report on his probe into Biden's own handling of classified documents while out of office -- in which Hur determined that no criminal charges were warranted.

18. What the guy's saying, people, is that there is no limit to what Trump will do to prevent going to trial on this.

Go through the list of possibilities in your head of what you imagine Trump could do, understanding that Mr. Smith's imagination, due to his proximity, can conceive of an even more expanded and detailed list and even he can't envision a scenario in which there would be an action which would be a "bridge too far" which would see Trump personally and actually walking on his own feet into a courtroom over this. He's saying, if it would take killing many people, he would try to kill however many it would take. If it meant using every last breath Trump has to bribe, blackmail, seduce, threaten, knee-cap or kidnap and hold hostages, he will do it. Hannibal Lecter was a pussy-cat compared to the carnage Trump is prepared to inflict.

Okay, I'm even scaring myself but,........ really, is there an end to Trump's depravity?.........really? Jack Smith doesn't think so.

What's more, I assume Cannon will bend over backwards to allow as many delays they can come up with.

And I assume for Jack Smith, it's too late to force recusal. A new judge will never get up to speed to have this trial before the election. She should have been removed before the first legal filing was made, just based on her history of favoritism.

Out of all the felonies, this case is the easiest to prove because the evidence is FUCKING OVERWHELMING. And yet Cannon is going to fuck it all up. Felonious Fuckface is a MASSIVE security risk and should never be anywhere near DC. And she's going to fuck it all up.

I would not be surprised if he's already told her he'd make he a SCOTUS justice.
