(3,307 posts)... Nord would not let me login to my password manager until late in the afternoon. Good on Nord, but it reminded me that too many hosting/cloud operations on the AWS system. Still have not seen any information on what caused Amazon AWS to "have problems". I suspect it was a DoS attack on AWS?

Wonder if this and Super Tuesday could possibly be connected?
And if it is a test for November 5th 2024
GOTV even if you have to ride a horse and carry lanterns!

(3,307 posts)... I couldn't login to my Nord Password manager last week. Amazon AWS was down according to a Nord support page I went to for assistance. Of course the usual suspects in St Petersburg came to mind. I have not come across any explanation for why Amazon AWS was down. Glad that Nord locked things up for a few hours in interest of security, or Nord has some of their operations on the AWS cloud.

(1,267 posts)Someone I know it IT posted that yesterday Facebook's 2nd Factor authentication was hacked and so Meta forced account resets from all devices. I know all of my devices, signed me out of Facebook at once.
Then apparently anyone who tried to logon had issues and it has been that all Meta platforms are not working, Facebook, Instagram, Whats app etc...
I was freaking out because I am a concert photographer and was starting to think that my account had been hacked now I am just hoping that this is just their issue on their back end, and that I have a chance to recover my account later once they figure out what they need to do to fix their systems

(4,658 posts)If this has been hacked, the hackers could be collecting passwords.
When it comes back up, and is secure again, use a totally different password. If you use the same password on other systems, definitely change them. (sigh - what a mess)

(3,261 posts)This is freaky. I didn't think about it being Super Tuesday. Yikes. Not wanting to jump to conclusions or spread panic, but the coincidence is creepy.

(53,214 posts)so maybe that's why I can't get in now. Maybe I'll try changing it again in a little while, once I'm sure they really are back up. Meanwhile, I think I'll enjoy no Facebook or Meta.

(4,658 posts)So now anything that I use that password with, I need to change them as well.

(7,541 posts)When I started on FB I swore to not be political. Well, the GOP changed that. I now no longer care who I irritate or anger. This is too scary to not try to get people to read and pay attention to articles, statements and such.
Other wise, I take photos of flowers and trees and critters or just pleasant scenery.

An array of commerce tools on the platforms were experiencing major disruptions, including Ads Manager and Meta Business Suite, according to Meta's website.
"We are aware of an issue users are having logging into our platforms," the site said. "Our engineering teams are aware and are actively looking to resolve the issue as quickly as possible."
