No presidential debates occur until after both nominating conventions have been held and have formally nominated their de facto candidates. They've typically happened in September and October. Not that I think any debate is very likely this year.

But Texas State University in my county seat of San Marcos (and my alma mater) is scheduled to host one. Where LBJ got his degree, and where he taught for a time after he retired from office. (Did you know Texas State University is a federal repository for official documents of the U.S. government?)

My town's community LPFM radio station has applied for press credentials for it. I don't think any of us are too sure of a debate happening, and we weren't even before all the recent information about Trump's cognitive decline.

While any reading of the list of characteristics of those exhibiting the "dark triad" of malignant narcissistic personality disorders would certainly lead even non-experts to suspect that Trump could serve as the dictionary example, he's got some other traits that I suspect he showed as a child. (He ended up in military school for a reason!) As a retired teacher, I'd say Trump has oppositional defiance disorder in combination with his bullying personality. That's got to make getting the candidate to do what the campaign "experts" want him to do extra tough, and is part of that unpredictability he displays.
