Prosecutors want Trump held in contempt for 'disturbing' Truth Social post attacking prospective jurors

Source: Business Insider

Apr 18, 2024, 10:19 AM EDT

Manhattan prosecutors in Donald Trump's criminal hush-money case asked the judge presiding over the case to sanction him for attacking prospective jurors in the trial, arguing the former president had repeatedly violated his gag order.

The latest salvo, from Assistant District Attorney Christopher Conroy in court Thursday morning, concerns a Truth Social post made by Trump on Wednesday, in which he quoted the Fox News host Jesse Watters. "They are catching undercover Liberal Activists lying to the Judge in order to get on the Trump Jury," Trump posted on his feed, quoting Watters while applying his own letter capitalization.

Conroy told New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan on Thursday morning that it was "the most disturbing post" among seven occasions in which Trump had violated his gag order since Monday, the day jury selection began.

He asked Merchan to hold Trump in contempt and fine him, adding that the Manhattan district attorney's office was "still considering our options" for the full scope of sanctions to request from the judge. Being held in contempt of court could result in jail time for the former president.

TSF operates in a world of paranoia and secrecy, everyone is always out to get him, and he's out to get others.

"Liberal Activists" are not that savvy as to operate undercover, they are open because they believe people are logical and trusting and rational and can be convinced of the veracity of progressive ideas. How could TSF combine 'woke' with being undercover? It's ludicrous.

A couple of times.

In the movie, John Cusack’s character had a girlfriend killed with a handgun years before. Whenever there’s a high profile gun case he moves into the jurisdiction hoping to be called for jury duty. Gene Hackman is a jury consultant who dives into people’s backgrounds and weeds out potentially bad jurists for the NRA. He missed Cusacks history.

Apparently they think everyone is as dishonest and conniving as they are.

Also anyone who comes across as rational, honest, and somewhat logical is their idea of "liberal".

You don't have to be liberal to dislike and disapprove of Donald Trump.

"Nice guys finish last".

They seem to take pride in cheating the system, scoring a deal, or pulling one over on someone. Only suckers play by the rules or pay all the taxes they owe. If the cashier gives them too much back in change, they'll just put it in their pocket without saying a word. Cheating is okay as long as they don't get caught, but if they get cheated, you'll hear them ranting for miles (like if the cashier didn't give them enough money back).

They take credit for everything good in their life and blame someone else when things don't go their way.

I remember the 2016 debate when Hillary criticized TSF for not paying taxes.

Hillary: “The only years that anybody’s ever seen were a couple of years when he had to turn them over to state authorities when he was trying to get a casino license, and they showed he didn’t pay any federal income tax,”

TSF: "That makes me smart."

The author would agree with you.

Trump’s Brain Is Not Okay
An expert’s view of Trump’s mental slide into dementia.

This wasn’t a new issue for me. I had written a series of op-eds about Trump’s signs of dementia in 2018 and 2019, and I was part of a group that publicly pressured Ronny Jackson to give Trump the dementia screening test that he can’t stop bragging about “acing.” I’d known for years Trump was showing medically unmistakable signs of dementia, but the press was hyper-focused on Biden falling off his bike, forgetting names, and being “too old.” (Bold emphasis mine)

snip
This is very important for people to understand. Not only will Trump continue to get worse and worse, his rate of decline is accelerating, and if he is typical, he will fall off what they call the “cognitive cliff” relatively soon. Based on his current accelerating rate of decline, it seems very unlikely that Trump could see out a second term without falling off the cliff and becoming totally incapacitated.

https://thinkbigpicture.substack.com/p/john-gartner-trump-cognitive-decline?utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=email&fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR38LtG403M0_gVH1oymvw9blAfrcGrpgTdgdd2D95ThOuEtIkRrXIUrLN4_aem_AdO6HeI5l1KjmumIAM5_d6ShG0g5QBWa3Qd6AKQAuVDWawNwo164ylTz9Xbp1AScHVmkecQr4iK9eb081PUry39J&triedRedirect=true

... is that they can get a jury all sworn in and then one of them might just get a little curious over the weekend to see what he's posting, and boom, jury tampering. He WILL NOT STOP until he is forcibly stopped.

I am wondering if that motherfucker can even be tried for any of these charges anywhere. They dismissed one juror (that was picked on Tuesday) because the media posted too much identifying information about him. People are fearful they will become targets for the terrorist's cult members.

The media should not have visual access to the jury box IMO. Audio only, and when during voir dire they talk about the person's job or past or anything else identifying, cut out the audio feed.

Too many people are intimidated already.

Well, maybe that's not the reason why he won't address it until next Tuesday, but they are likely to have picked their jury by then. Seems to me that waiting means the jurors already picked might see some of these social media posts before the judge deals with this. And that is jury tampering.
