Millions more go to Trump legal expenses as Biden and Democratic Party expand campaign cash advantage

CNN — Donald Trump’s leadership PAC spent as much money as it took in last month, with his legal bills remaining a top expense as the former president grappled with the aftermath of losing a civil fraud case and prepared for the start of a historic criminal trial in a Manhattan court.

Save America, the political action committee that has underwritten much of Trump’s legal expenses, spent nearly $3.7 million on legal-related expenses in March – nearly $3 out of every $4 it collected, according to a filing Saturday night with the Federal Election Commission. And the committee ended this month with an additional $886,000 in outstanding legal bills – most of which were owed to Robert & Robert, the firm that has represented Trump and his family in a business fraud case brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James. That case ended in February with a staggering $355 million judgment against him, not counting interest.

Opening arguments are slated to begin Monday in a separate case, the criminal hush money trial that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has brought against Trump – the first former president to face criminal prosecution. Save America paid a combined $1.14 million in March to Blanche Law and NechelesLaw LLP, whose principals have flanked Trump in court during jury selection in recent days.

Saturday’s filings underscore how much financial ground Trump must make up as the general election campaign heats up. President Joe Biden and the Democratic National Committee expanded their cash advantage over Trump and the GOP in March. Biden’s principal campaign committee entered April with $85.5 million stockpiled in its war chest, while Trump’s main campaign account had $45.1 million.

12. As a negative for Trump it does because Trump won't be able to combine resources with the PACs.

If the PACs then seek to try and makeup for Trump's shortchange that's an extra dollar that they don't have to help their candidates that are running for a House or Senate seat.
Either way it's a win for us.

... that committing so many crimes would cost money in legal fees? Too bad, so sad.

The more money those PACs spend on legal fees, the less money he has is to campaign. He's whining about having to sit in the courtroom and he can't be doing his hate rallies (while his lawyers actually try to drag the case out, meaning he has to sit there longer - see if that makes any fucking sense). Well, it looks to me that he doesn't have the money for his hate rallies anyway. He wasn't doing all that many rallies before this case started, likely because he doesn't have the money. Or maybe municipalities have gotten wise to him and are making him pay up front, which he won't do.

Wait, didn't TFG just claim that he raised $50 million just a few weeks ago in a one night fund raising endeavor?

That was yesterday, and it was his lawyers themselves, not a stock price. All his lawyers got together and passed the doobie around because it was 4/20…and because they have the worst client in the world: Cantaloupe Caligula.😁

13. Yes, and he is not donating to these campaigns either, I think. Sink or swim, I guess. All tRUMP wants is the money.

I wish that they would nail him for pocketing all of this campaign cash (supposed to be for a political campaign, not personal expenses).

Either way, I suspect that the serious lack of cash will hurt the republican tickets all across the board, leading to a wipeout across the Senate, hopefully restoring control of the House back to the Democrats. The repugs have shown America just what they can do, which is basically nothing. The infighting among republicans doesn't help either.
