Eight people are dead and another eight are critically injured after a bus carrying farm workers crashed and overturned early Tuesday morning in north central Florida, officials said.

The crash involved a 2010 International Bus transporting farm workers and a 2001 Ford Ranger truck and unfolded on State Road 40, 500 feet west of SW 148 Court at 6:35 a.m., the Florida Highway Patrol said. The crash site is about 45 miles south of Gainesville.

The two vehicles sideswiped each other, and the bus traveled off the roadway through a fence and overturned, FHP said.

Eight people were killed and 37 were hospitalized -- eight of whom are critically injured, the Marion County Fire Rescue confirmed to NBC News. ... In total there were 53 patients in the crash, MCFR said.

farm workers? what company were they working for?
what company paid for the bus to transport them?
is the CEO of the company an avid Trump supporter?
were any of the farm workers legally in this country?
has the bus company had a history of safety violations?
were the bus driver and pickup truck driver tested for alcohol and drugs?
do either of those drivers have a history of DUI charges?

So it was not the fault of the bus driver. The driver of the pickup claims he does not know what happened. People that live in the area claim people tend to speed and pass slower moving vehicles in a dangerous manner along that stretch of highway.

Sounds like they had too many people in the bus. It looks like it is the driver of the pickup that was at fault. But I think Florida has one of those partial fault laws where the bus driver and their insurance might have to cover a percentage of hte damages.
