Mike Johnson Suggests Supreme Court Intervene In Trump Hush Money Case
Source: Huff Post

The Supreme Court should intervene in former president Donald Trumps business fraud case, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said Friday after Trumps conviction.
I do believe the Supreme Court should step in, Johnson said in an appearance on Fox News the day after Trump was found guilty Thursday in a New York state court on 34 charges of falsifying business documents. Trump said Friday he would appeal his felony convictions, the first-ever for a former president.
This is totally unprecedented. And its dangerous to our system, Johnson said. This is diminishing the American peoples faith in our system of justice itself. And to maintain a republic, you have to have that. People have to believe that justice is fair, that theres equal justice under law.
Johnson said he thought at least some of the courts justices were worried by the case. The justices on the court I know many of them personally I think theyre deeply concerned about that, as we are, he said.

The MAGAs and the GOP, by choice, are nothing more than a crime syndicate. We better take this seriously as time is running out and we run the risk of the country becoming like Chicago in the 1920's.

Hey dumbasses, there's a way you talk to the Supreme Court: through appeals.
It figures that he's so ignorant of U.S. law that he would just issue a public request asking this court to intervene.
He might know this and just doing it for their crazy base, but it makes him look incredibly ignorant.
Well said!!😊

Mike. When a man or woman lands on Mars it will be unprecedented. Take the week off and try to figure it out. And then vote against it and whine loudly.

(7,790 posts)I'm tired of hearing it, too... without the context that it was unprecedented that he stole the election from Clinton. It was unprecedented that he kept all his Emoluments, all the "gifts" that were given to the U.S. during what should have been Hillary's term in office. It's all so unprecedented that they managed to get enough people to turn evil and vote for him, and, along with the rigging he was doing and Russia's help... they put a crook in the highest office of the land.
But you know what? The copy of the newspaper that says "Trump Guilty!" makes a perfect match to my "Nixon Resigns" front page in my memory box! (LOL)

(43,165 posts)an hour or so while I was watching Alex Witt, Velshi, etc., and he said it would take a long, long time.
I looked over your link and one other and found this:
When the judgment of a state court rests on an adequate, independent ground based on state law, the Court will not review any federal question presented, even if the state court decided the federal question incorrectly.
So this avenue does not look promising.

(5,345 posts)Alito and Thomas would have resigned or in the very least recused themselves from January 6 cases. By refusing to co-operate with the Senate Judiciary in terms of addressing their lack of ethics, Roberts is making it clear he doesn't care about credibility either. They also wouldn't be deliberately and inexcusably preventing the government from bringing Trump to trial regarding January 6.
With their buddies in the Senate covering their behinds from impeachment they know they are just as untouchable as they plan to make Trump.

(4,259 posts)... there ARE vermin infesting America. And they're ALL Republicans like that malignant cockroach, Mike Johnson. His treachery and mendacity are obscene beyond words. The Founding Fathers were explicit and vehement when expressing their utter contempt for people like Johnson by elucidating their reasons for the ABSOLUTE separation of church and state. Religion has NO place in the decision-making processes of a democratic society. None whatso-fucking-EVER.
This evil little turd is 2nd in line for the presidency, but he embodies all of that is vile and despicable about the Republican Party. We cannot let this happen. Letting people that we KNOW to be traitors continue their depredations as they undermine democracy is NOT acceptable. Neville Chamberlain's legacy must not be repeated. America is better than these unspeakably rotten, malicious, and deceitful swine. We cannot let it be perverted by such people.

(3,213 posts)I've been around the Sun a few times, corruption happens, very few of us don't have some sort of price, but it seems to me that corrupt Democrats do things less nhilistically than corrupt Republicans. Less dark. Less malevolent. Clinton's antics vs children in cages who have gone missing would be an example. Yes, sex, money and drugs are fodder for both sides of the aisle because those are connected to human needs and mistakes, but we seem to be less traitorous than they are. We believe in this country, they don't.

(8,008 posts)The conduct of the trial, I believe, is reviewable and that is what Trump will do - try and find areas where the trial was mismanaged. But any flaws found would have to somehow affect the outcome of the verdict, where it is nullified, leaving the prosecutor with the choice of whether to refile charges. But this is State court, which would have to be exhausted before the Federal courts get involved.

What is this idiot thinking? What is wrong with these people?? Talk about giving the game up--why is he broadcasting this twisted thinking? So, the opposition party leader is conversing with the SC who can basically declare a trial null and void for their boy? What the hell is this? This is his version of justice? Does he plan to write their opinion for them?
We HAVE to push Biden over the top and clean up the Supreme Court AND clean out the vermin in Congress. I think the DOJ needs to crank it up and identify those traitors that participated in the attempted overthrow of our government. And that includes little Miss Ginny.
This is so appalling. I wouldn't let this man walk my dog. He's clearly a cult member and unfit for service.
