WASHINGTON Thousands of people from cities across the country gathered outside the White House on Saturday to protest the Biden administrations policies toward the Israel-Hamas war, many dressed in keffiyehs and red clothes to symbolize what they say is a red line that Israel crossed.
Hundreds of protesters held a red banner that stretched around the White House, urging President Joe Biden to change his approach to the war in Gaza.
Biden, Biden you cant hide, we are your red line, protesters chanted. NBC News has reached out to the White House for comment.
The intention is to draw a red line where Biden wont draw one when it comes to Israels genocide in Gaza, and say we as the people are drawing the red line today to say enough is enough, said Nas Issa, a protester from the Palestinian Youth Movement. Its time for an arms embargo, and its time to end this.

I'm afraid too many of our countrymen won't be happy until they have to learn the hard way. And a second Trump Presidency will be "the hard way".

Election interference.
Damage liberal colleges with protests.
Divide liberal voters.
And make life difficult for Biden who has been smart enough to dodge some GOP/Putin bullets.
Yes humans are experiential learners.
And will be facing some steep learning curves.
They already are with the SC and red states enacting draconian laws.

(4,746 posts)The last Womens March while TSF was squatting in the WH left a lasting impression. Behind the fences was a row of officers dressed in black gear holding long guns. As I remember it was a two handed hold. The only thing needed was to lift, aim a shoot the very dangerous families who marched for reproductive rights. So interesting that the SS is putting up with these posturing people. It only emboldens them!

(143 posts)They conveniently forget What started this war, The atrocities that Hamas committed in starting this war against Israeli civilians like the gang rapes, be-headings and babies in ovens.
I wonder how many of these "protesters" are calling for the release of the Israeli hostages which would bring about an immediate cease fire.

(10,988 posts)Say there is no evidence of babies in ovens, babies being decapitated and no concrete evidence of mass rape. NYT article was proven to be false.
Authorities have yet to provide an official breakdown on the victims. But the Walla news site has published data by age and gender for 756 of the murdered civilians for which information is available.
One of them was a baby under the age of one year 10-month-old Mila Cohen, killed with her father and grandmother.
According to data by Haaretz, a Bedouin woman at the tail end of her pregnancy was shot in the abdomen while heading to the hospital to give birth, where doctors delivered the baby, but failed to save it.
Additionally, 12 children aged 1 to 9 10 boys and two girls were murdered in the Hamas massacres, according to Walla. https://www.timesofisrael.com/14-kids-under-10-25-people-over-80-up-to-date-breakdown-of-oct-7-victims-we-know-about/

And, of course, the protestors know that they can't directly influence the Israeli government. They hope to do so by influencing our government to then exert influence on Israel.

(33,063 posts)I'm glad you posted this, BumRushDaShow, and I agree with those who say these protesters should be over at the Israeli Embassy, not at the White House.
However, as a lifelong Democrat, I have to worry about the fact that most of the Gaza War protests around the country consist mostly of ordinary, young, college students, who just want the war in Gaza to end.
All the polls show President Biden is essentially tied with "Stinky" right now, and he needs the millennials and the college students' votes in order to win in November.
I want President Biden to win....Period!
(From the OP)
"The messages from protesters ranged from pushing for an end to the war and a change in U.S. policy to calls against a two-state solution."
So, the more moderate ones are calling for an end to the war, which President Biden wants too. (Netanyahu doesn't want that)
But the really crazy, "radical" ones are yelling "We don't want no two-state, we're taking back '48'."
And, "Say it loud, say it clear, we don't want no Zionists here!" (those whackos would never vote for Biden anyway).
We can't paint all the Gaza War protesters with the same brush. They're not all pro-Hamas.
(From the OP)
"The vast majority of the protesters did not espouse pro-Hamas views."
For example, (From the OP)
"Sometimes it feels a little helpless because everyone talks about the fact that it started October 7.
Meanwhile, there's been decades of oppression, illegal detentions, illegal occupations, illegal settlements," said Ibrahim Dabdoub, who drove to D.C. from Nashville, Tennessee.
Dabdoub attended the protest with his two sisters. The three siblings of Palestinian descent travelled from Canada, Tennessee and North Carolina for the protest.
Dabdoub and his sister Diana voted for Biden in 2020....but neither plans to support him this November.
"I regret everything," Diana Dabdoub said of her 2020 vote, adding that she "will never vote for him again."
(Also from the OP)
"Just days ago, Biden said in an interview with Time magazine that there was 'every reason' to believe that Netanyahu was prolonging the war for political gain."
