Trump planning to spend part of RNC week in Chicago, not Milwaukee

Source: ABC News

June 18, 2024, 10:07 PM

Former President Donald Trump is making plans to visit Chicago during the Republican National Convention -- more than an hour's drive from where the convention will take place in Milwaukee, according to sources familiar with his plans, but he insisted on Tuesday he would be "staying" in Milwaukee and again denied reports he called it a "horrible city."

Trump is expected to attend a fundraiser in Chicago, though details are still being finalized. A campaign official tells ABC News, the former president will stay in Milwaukee to accept the Republican nomination on Thursday evening.

Earlier Tuesday, at one point, several officials briefed on security plans and logistical arrangements indicated Trump would likely stay overnight at his property in Chicago -- Trump International Hotel and Tower -- during the duration of the RNC.

Later on Tuesday, the former president denied reporting that he wouldn't be staying in the host city in an interview with a local Milwaukee TV station. "I'm staying here. I was always planning on staying here," Trump told WTMJ as he campaigned in Wisconsin. "Again, I chose Milwaukee for a reason."

He has repeatedly used Chicago as an example of a shithole where crime is rampant and people are running around shooting each other down in the streets every 5 minutes. (None of which is true - sure, Chicago has crime; but it's the nation's 3rd largest city with all of the socioeconomic issues that entails. It is nowhere near as uniquely hellacious as he likes to claim.)

As for that stupid tower with his name on it, that thing has been the focal point of more protests than I can count since he decided to run for potus the first time. If he wants another go, I'm sure he'll get one.

Come on down, Orange Boy! Chicago area Dems will be happy to roll out the welcome mat for you!

His Chicago tower where he claimed a 651 million dollars tax deduction because of a downturn in the economy, and then he formed a holding company and double dipped on the deduction cheating the government out of 100 million dollars in taxes.

Then we have Hunter Biden who failed to pay 1.4 million dollars in taxes while in the throes of crack addiction, but he did pay what he owed plus penalty.

Those 2 examples are why I criticize Merrick Garland. Garland appointed a special counsel who prosecuted Hunter for a tax crime that is rarely prosecuted, however, when TSF does far worse with his taxes Garland hides in his office in fear of TSF and does absolutely nothing. We don't even need an IRS whistleblower like we had with Hunter, investigative reporters have done the work for DOJ, the ducks are lined up yet TSF is allowed to steal 100 million and Hunter stole nothing.

Garland is either afraid of TSF or complicit. I suppose Garland is waiting for the statute of limitations to expire like he did on the misdemeanors involved in the Stormy Daniels, "individual one" prosecution. Because of delay in that prosecution it was either felony or nothing.

Don't bring up TSF's Chicago tower if you don't want me going off on a rant.

for waiting 50 years until they finally dealt with 45.

Seriously.

You had several NYC/Manhattan D.A.s (Hogan, Morgenthau, Vance, Jr.), a pile of NYC mayors (Lindsay, Beame, Koch, Dinkins, Ghouliani, Bloomberg, & de Blasio), as well as many AGs (Lefkowitz, Abrams, Vacco, Spitzer, Cuomo, & Schneiderman), who came and went before SOMEONE actually charged him for his criminality.

None of Chump's casino employees were willing to testify because they all signed NDAs ... or so we've been told. None of it matters now because it's all past the deadline for filing charges. But the rumors are rampant and it shouldn't surprise anyone that Chump broke the casino laws openly. David Cay Johnston followed that story for many years.

NJ seems to be waking up and looking at those properties. The liquor license thing was just a shot across the bow.

Oddly enough, Bedminster has been his "summer residence" due to FL being so hot in summer yet he has apparently stayed away from there.

Even if the old casino employees start telling tales, I don't think New Jersey will ever pursue it.

For one thing, those Atlantic City casinos were managed by Chump's former wife Ivana and his brother Robert who are both dead. BUT the Bedminster club is operating currently and I think it's still making money, no thanks to Chump. If he loses his liquor license, it's time to sell the place.

That business fraud that AG James got him on, only goes back for a certain number of years based on the statute of limitations. Based on Cohen's testimony, the crimes went back for decades.

Thankfully, the NY state courts kept the frivolous appeals in check and the federal courts didn't intervene.

That is why you see Gymsuit trying to throw everything he has at NY in an attempt to threaten to delay justice and punish the NY city and state prosecutors there, as well as the NY state's judges involved in 45's cases (Merchan and Engoron). He did the same to Willis in GA and she told him to go pound sand.

The Windy City is a little farther from Milwaukee than Winnetka is, so he probably will need to use a helicopter. Not that that's ever bothered him. I'm sure he has "people" who take care of all the arrangements for him.

He and anyone else he can drag along will have to pay to stay. Any easy way to turn a buck (since the RNC and the US taxpayer is footing the bill). Someone should check how much room service costs or getting your cloths cleaned. So many inflated added services to add...

a few days before the convention. So, he might be in jail, or at least on probation. He is in denial. He thinks because he sets up a huge rally somewhere that he is automatically going to receive permission to leave the jurisdiction. I don't think so. It's the Felon Tax, you know?
