Former California senator slams lawmakers 'pushing out' Biden: 'Please spare me your five minutes of fame'

Former California Sen. Barbara Boxer (D) on Thursday bashed lawmakers who have called for President Biden to drop out of the race after last week’s presidential debate against former President Trump.

“I disagree with these members who are coming on TV for their five minutes of fame and pushing out a man who has been one of the greatest presidents since FDR,” Boxer said during an interview on CNN.

Boxer previously told Los Angeles Times columnist Mark Barabak that the president should get two weeks to prove to the American people that he’s up for the job and that the shaky debate performance was a fluke.

“There are two schools of thought. My school of thought is show us the comeback,” Boxer told CNN. She referred to Trump, Biden’s Republican opponent in the November election, as the “true threat.”

he even took care of my student loan (that I had been paying on extended repayment forever - you never pay it off on low payments due to the interest on those things). I can't think of many politicians who have actually given a damn about whether kids from small towns actually make it or not. As long as he wants to be in the White House, he has my support 100%.

I don’t understand why democrats get their underwear in a twist every time Biden misspeaks or stutters or gaffs. Rump does it all the time. He lies all the time. He slurs his words all the time. I think that the democrats in congress need to come out and give a list of Biden’s accomplishments every single day, until people finally hear the truth from our side. Why are we not more vocal on this in public. On every forum I’ve been on, we hash this fact to death, but our senators and representatives still spend most of their time giving interviews on YouTube not on major stations. I don’t watch cable and I’m pretty sure there are a lot of people out there that only watch the news on basic stations then turn the tv off. I haven’t watched television since reality tv started. The news sometimes and a movie maybe, then off for the night. Local stations would be more effective for this.
