Former Rep. Cedric Richmond (D-La.) said Vice President Harris is increasing her role in the campaign ahead of Novembers election.
Richmond, co-chair of the Biden-Harris campaign, said Sunday on MSNBCs The Sunday Show with Jonathan Capehart that the vice president will be stepping up her involvement in the campaign. This comes as the campaign and the White House are still trying to quell concerns about President Bidens ability to win a second term following a lackluster debate performance last month.
She is increasing her role and shes been a valued partner since day one. I wont get into whether shes been covered fairly by the press, but she is a valuable partner. Shes incredibly intelligent, he said. And I will just say she has not only publicly stated her support for President Biden, but shes privately said that too.
Harris has been walking a fine line as some people have suggested that she replace Biden at the top of the ticket. She has reiterated her support for Biden and has doubled down on his ability to serve a second term. Richmond also said that California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) have also expressed their support for Biden following the debate.

You may see articles from the local news sources where she is giving her speeches but otherwise, they are purposely NOT showing her.
(I had posted about the above back in May)

(6,115 posts)So she got a late start, so to speak. Putting her out there gets the public to really see her. She is young and energetic and engaging but the public hardly knows this.
And if anything happens to Biden and she needs to step into the role, the public needs to see her and get comfortable with her. I think a lot of fear regarding Biden's age and ability comes down to the fear about succession. The more she is in the public eye showing her competence, the better people will feel about Biden's age. It's a win-win.
