Fuming Joe Biden Throws Down the Gauntlet: 'I Don't Care What the Millionaires Think'

Source: Daily Beast

Updated Jul. 08, 2024 12:01PM EDT / Published Jul. 08, 2024 9:34AM EDT

A fuming President Joe Biden called into MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Monday to declare that he will not withdraw his bid for a second term, despite growing calls for him to step down.

Trump is “a liar,” Biden said. “And he hasn’t done a damn thing since the debate. He's been riding around a golf cart for 10 days down in Mar-a-Lago with his wealthy friends.”

“I’m getting so frustrated by the elites in the party,” he added. “I don’t care what the millionaires think.”

In a fighting statement after days of bleeding support, Biden threw down the gauntlet to Democrats calling for him to quit. “If any of these guys don’t think I should run, run against me. Go ahead. Announce for president. Challenge me at the convention,” he said.

This is what he just did -

When I had just gotten out of college and was interviewing for chem jobs, I signed up to be a sub for the Philly schools to obviously get some $$$ for the greenie meanies (student loans) that would be coming in. Of course most of the schools needing subs were junior and senior highs and in the junior highs, the only way to get the attention (and respect of the kids) was to make strategic use of a yardstick smacked on a desk. Respect was gained after that. Biden needs to get these junior-high school wusses back in line and he knows what to do.

Those Democratic politicians echoing the beltway media's breathless trashing of Biden should be referred to as the "beltway media caucus" of the Democratic party.

would pull a pop quiz, usually a gas law problem, give us 5 min. to solve it and would smack his desk with a wooden ruler until the time was up. Dropped the class, couldn't stand him.

13. This makes me think of FDR's speech
Mon Jul 8, 2024, 04:15 PM
Jul 2024

In 1936, just before the election, where he called out the rich etc for putting personal gain and politics over the best interests of the country...

'Perhaps the most memorable line of the speech came when Roosevelt described forces which he labeled "the old enemies of peace: business and financial monopoly, speculation, reckless banking, class antagonism, sectionalism, war profiteering."* He went on to claim that these forces were united against his candidacy; that "They are unanimous in their hate for me — and I welcome their hatred." ' (wikipedia)

Sounds like Joe has had it with those trying to push him out and is daring them to keep trying.
* I think today we can add the media to FDR's list.

Joe is the best politician and person for the job. Like he said, challenge him at the convention or STFU.

We have work to do—Democrats rescuing small “d” democrats.

I'm ridin' with Biden. I cannot fathom changing horses mid stream, especially when Joe has done a great job. My concerns are with the Dems that oppose him running...where was all this concern 2-3 years ago, and ADDED BONUS: Joe's not pulling all the strings alone, he has a great Cabinet, VP, and Dems on his side. One stinkin' 90 minute debate vs. 4 years of working not only for the American people, but against a pedorapist and con man? Joe's my guy.

no matter what outlet, has some kind of Biden-sliming word, phrase, or sentence in it. The most popular, used almost universally as a corporate RW talking point - "disastrous debate". I plow through dozens and dozens of links to find the "least offensive" articles that do have relevant "news" that should be reported on.

ETA: quote got cut off in title: “I’m getting so frustrated by the elites in the party,” he added. “I don’t care what the millionaires think.”

is why the "donor class" wants him out.

He cares about the rest of us.
