Source: Washington Post
The ongoing heat wave in Washington keeps making history.
The District tied a record high of 104 degrees Tuesday while surpassing the century mark for the third straight day, matching the longest such streak on record set in 1930 at the beginning of the Dust Bowl.
On Sunday, temperatures soared to a record of 101, and on Monday they reached a record 102.

(13,364 posts)The heat has been insane. Feels like walking into an oven for the first 10 seconds then the humidity hits like a wave of instant sweat, than you go out into the sun and it beats down on you relentlessly you can feel your skin burning in 5 minutes. Its so oppressive its hard to breathe sometimes and there is nothing wrong with my lungs. I despise every fucking awful summer. This summer however is unlivable. Walking to the store 7 minutes away is torture.

(54,988 posts)for the current reports and Phila is super hot as well as DC, even the Poconos are in the 90s. Yuk!!!!! My niece is here from DC and she said it is beyond awful. I always remember "the humidity" in the northeast. Hot and humid is hell.

(7,888 posts)Maybe more. IIRC, Dump said it was a hoax made up by the Chinese... and here we are.
BTW, exactly when did 'they' change the terminology from global warming to climate change?
I must have missed that memo.

(51,108 posts)The winters are clearly warmer than past years with a few polar vortex type events making it cold for short time periods. The dumbest Republicans used the Texas freeze in 2021 as proof that liberals are liars.
