Political pundit Lou Dobbs dead at 78
Source: KTLA 5
Political commentator Lou Dobbs has died at the age of 78.
Former President Donald Trump, whom Dobbs publicly supported, announced the passing on his Truth Social account.
The Great Lou Dobbs has just passed away A friend, and truly incredible Journalist, Reporter, and Talent, Trump wrote. He understood the World, and what was happening, better than others. Lou was unique in so many ways, and loved our Country. Our warmest condolences to his wonderful wife, Debi, and family. He will be greatly missed!
He famously questioned if former President Barack Obama was born in the U.S. and prominently supported Trump and his policies during Trumps term in the White House.

(167,118 posts)He never did that when he was strictly a business anchor on CNN. The "immigration" thing seemed to have been like explosive diarrhea out of nowhere, and that got him fired, and off to Faux Snooze he went.
Same, believe it or not, with Maria Bartiromo, who also did business anchor duties for years, but on CNBC. When I saw that she also jumped over to Faux, it was like WTF is wrong with these people?

(167,118 posts)My mother was a fan of both WAAAAAAYYYYY back. She would be rolling in her grave regarding what they devolved into.
I know we used to watch "Wall Street Week" with Louis Rukeyser on PBS back in the '80s. He would bring his dad Merryle on every once in awhile. Eventually when the city wired up for cable, she discovered MSNBC when they first came into existence (which she called "microwave"
) and then found CNBC. And between those and the original CNN and CNN Headline News - plus of course CSPAN - she was a happy camper!

I remember when this now mercifully dead piece of shit tweeted the address of Jessica Leeds, who accused Trump of sexual assault. Several of us then spread Dobbs' Virginia address around the internet.

Next thing we know, the Stocks/Internet boom goes away, and suddenly those two appear as Journalists who are POLITICAL experts.
LOL, LOL, LOL, LOL...........
And of course, they are in lock step with the Republican Media because that Media has been both their claim to fame and cash cow.
Their drivel was as pathetic as Rush Limbaugh's.

(10,230 posts)Lou Dobbswhen he talked about money and financial matters. That was decades ago. He lost me when he transformed himself into a right-wing commentator.
To the hand-wringers and pearl-clutchers worried about Joe Biden, I would remind you that Lou is Donald Johns age and from the photos it looks like he took better care of himself than TFG does.
Club Pachyderm might need a new presidential candidate soon. And I doubt that JD Vance has the sex appeal of Florida Man to the MAGA faithful.

This forum DU got popular when there was suspicion about the Diebold machines in the 2004 election, Bev Harris, Andy Stephenson... I know some of you remember this well. For a long time, the subforum on election reform was more popular than General Discussion. Most of the talk on DU was about the voting machines.
At the time Dobbs was the only MSM reporter who would talk about it. He actually had regular show for a while all about the voting machines. He was on CNN at the time. I actually recorded all the shows he did on Diebold and made DVDs of them and gave them away to people.
Then he went to the dark side.
Good riddance.
