Elon Musk PAC being investigated by Michigan secretary of state for potential violations

A political action committee backed by billionaire Elon Musk is under investigation in Michigan amid efforts to collect voter data. Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has said he created and helped fund the America PAC, which is supporting former President Donald Trump. Musk has a net worth of over $225 billion, according to Forbes.

The committee has been acquiring detailed voter information from those living in Michigan and other battleground states after people submit their personal data through a section on the PAC’s website that says “register to vote.”

After clicking on the “register to vote” tab on America PAC’s website, users in states like Michigan can submit a ZIP code, address and phone number.” People with a Michigan address are brought to a page that says “thank you” and asks users to “complete the form below” to help wrap up the voter registration process. As of Sunday afternoon, though, there was no other form to complete below the words “thank you.”

“Every citizen should know exactly how their personal information is being used by PACs, especially if an entity is claiming it will help people register to vote in Michigan or any other state,” a spokeswoman for the Michigan secretary of state’s office said in a statement to CNBC.

Heather Cox Richardson mentioned this in her August 2nd Letters from an American Substack and podcast:

Today, Brian Schwartz of CNBC reported that Elon Musk and other tech executives are putting their money behind a social media ad campaign for Trump and Vance and are creating targeted ads in swing states by collecting information about voters under false pretenses.

According to Schwartz, their America PAC, or Political Action Committee, says it helps viewers register to vote. And indeed, the ads direct would-be voters in non-swing states to voter registration sites. But people responding to the ad in swing states are not sent to registration sites. Instead, they are presented with a highly detailed personal information form and prompted to enter their address, cell phone number, and age, handing over priceless personal data to a political operation that can then create ads aimed at that person's demographic and target them personally in door-to-door campaigns. After getting the information, the site simply says, thank you, without directing the viewer toward a registration site.

This is outrageous, and I’m very glad Michigan Sec. of State Benson is going after them.

of creating the list to challenge voter registrations. They'll use the zip codes to target historically Democratic areas, universities etc. and like in Ohio or Georgia they will try to suppress hundreds of thousands of votes with the push of a button.

Especially Georgia. They now have the personal data of people they can claim never registered to vote. And now if one of these folks goes to vote thinking they're registered and actually does vote... VOTER FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD! But wait, there's more. What if they actually register? And go to the polls and do vote? CHALLENGE CHALLENGE CHALLENGE!! Here's our proof!!!
The result is mass claims like these that muck up the process, delay certifications and cram the courts whether proven or not to try and steal this election and/or try to further some peoples beliefs that the election system is broken or their votes don't count.

This is their ground game this time around and there is no town or county too small for them to try and squash with Ivy League lawyers and millions upon millions of dollars each like a mob of Big Oil Fracking salesmen. There is one flaw in their plan. We've been playing the ground game a lot longer than them.

Here Magats complain about immigration. How we should only care about America and Americans. Yet they allow themselves to be led around by the nose by Rupert Murdock who was born in Australia and Elon Musk from South Africa. Yes they both became naturalized citizens, but originally they were immigrants.

Plus I think I read Reagan fast tracked Murdock's naturalization so he likely side stepped the process. Not to mention Trump married two foreigners. Also Putin is pulling the Republicans strings like a puppeteer!
