Democratic presidential nominee and Vice President Kamala Harris has given an update on her interview plans amid a wave criticism from Republicans who claim that she is refusing to take questions from reporters.
Harris, who took her place atop the Democratic ticket after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race and endorsed her on July 21, told reporters following a campaign stop in Detroit on Thursday that she was hoping to take part in a major interview "before the end of the month."
"I've talked to my team, I want to get an interview scheduled before the end of the month," Harris said in response to a question about when she would "sit down for [her] first interview since becoming the nominee."
Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, are scheduled to headline the Democratic National Convention in Chicago from August 19 to August 23.

(13,913 posts)And as usual the damn media fell for it. Of course he did it so he can control the narrative by denigrating Kamala. We know that shit won't work now given his increasing incoherence & lunacy. As Dubya said, that was some wierd shit. Never thought i'd quote dubya but in this case it's Apt! 🤣

(38,050 posts)...had a press conference, as if Trump is wonderful for standing in front of reporters, telling obvious lies, showing he can't count, think or tell the truth even obliquely.
The reporter obviously carried the unprincipled felonious moron's message forward because, well, the reporter is perhaps not a felon, but he is an unprincipled moron.
Kamala has spent a career in the public arena, and I'm sure the press will have its chance to throw questions marking the felon's talking points, and will criticize the coherent answers in exactly the way they ignore Trump's obvious lies.

(2,728 posts)turn it back on them-like : why aren't you asking Trump these questions, in the interviews you have already had with him?
Don't just make it a general response - pick one reporter to direct the question to, and stay one him / her until she gets a quotable response. Then she should read off some of the questions they have asked trump, and she should respond to those questions.
Time to take the press to task.

(8,202 posts)Wrong focus, media.
It's not about taking questions, it's about answering questions.
Trump takes questions but does he answer them? No he doesn't. He says a bunch of words but they're not answers.
If you were taking a test in school & you answered essay questions the way Trump answers questions you'd fail the test.

In the book "All The President Men", there was a time when the press actually went out of their way to confirm the accuracy of story by requiring several reliable sources.

(872 posts)However sensationalistic it may be, Harris could use the time for promoting her platform. Yes there are risk, but given her familiarity with the strengths and weaknesses of her platform she can prepare for it. The more she is seen the more chances she can appeal to the undecideds or those who are wavering.
