A second image of JD Vance allegedly dressed as a woman in a blonde wig has been posted to X, formerly known as Twitter. The post reads simply: a second photo has hit my inbox.
It appears to show a man in drag wearing the same wig and costume as in an earlier image said to have been snapped by a Yale classmate in 2012.
A spokesperson for Donald Trumps running mate did not deny that the first photo posted on X was authentic when approached for comment by the Daily Beast. The second photo shows the subject looking down at the camera with hands behind their neck. It was posted on the same account as the first picture.
Travis Whitfill, the source of the alleged photo, said it was taken by a classmate at Yale and sent to him. He, in turn, sent it to Matt Bernstein, the A Bit Fruity podcast host, who posted it online.

(1,213 posts)What part are you unable to comprehend of how hypocritical it is for this jerk to dress this way while being in the party of bashing trans people, banning drag queen story hours and accusing trans people of being pedophiles and groomers?
You can bet that he'd pitch a hissy fit if someone called him a groomer over this, and wanted to send him to jail for dressing as a gender other than his own, but he thinks nothing of trashing other people who dress like he did in those photos.

He wants to outlaw gay marriage.
He wants to outlaw doctors who try to help people with gender dysphoria.
He's the worst kind of moralistic lawmaker: a hypocrite.
That's what's bad. He and anyone else should be allowed wide latitude to explore and express their sexuality, but he wants to make that illegal.
He can play but people in need should suffer, is his attitude.

Ohio Republican U.S. Sen. JD Vances journey from a troubled childhood in Appalachia to the halls of the U.S. Senate to being former President Donald Trumps running mate has been the subject of much ink, yet his contradictory stance on LGBTQ+ rights is coming under scrutiny. Vances memoir, Hillbilly Elegy, contains a revealing anecdote about his childhood belief that he was gay. Influenced by a preachers condemnation of homosexuality, young Vance feared he was destined for hell simply because he disliked girls and cherished his friendship with another boy.
Vances grandmother, whom he referred lovingly to as mamaw during his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention last Wednesday, was a central figure in his upbringing. She swiftly dispelled his fears with a blunt question and an assurance of divine love, regardless of his sexual orientation. This experience, which might have instilled a sense of empathy and understanding, starkly contrasts with Vances political actions. As a senator, Vance has positioned himself as a staunch opponent of LGBTQ+ rights, focusing particularly on restricting transgender rights.
Vances opposition to affirming ones identity is complicated by his decision to change his name, not once, but twice. He was born James Donald Bowman and took the surname Hamel from his stepfather before finally choosing the name Vance to honor his grandmother, The New York Times reports. Critics argue that Vances childhood experience should have fostered empathy and understanding toward the LGBTQ+ community. Instead, he has used his platform to undermine their rights, leading to accusations of hypocrisy.
Vances legislative actions have also drawn significant criticism. He introduced a bill to criminalize gender-affirming care for minors, arguing that such medical interventions are harmful and should be banned. He has also decried the inclusion of a third gender option on passports, branding it as a waste of taxpayer money. There are only two genders passports issued by the United States government should recognize that simple fact, Vance wrote on his congressional website while pushing his bill, the Passport Sanity Act.

Childs play? Forty-three Ohio House Republicans are sponsoring a bill that would classify drag queen story hours and other childrens events as adult cabaret performances, along with exotic and go-go dancing, and would prohibit them. Under House Bill 245, any cabaret performance in front of a minor would be criminalized as a misdemeanor or felony, depending on whether the performance was harmful or obscene. Equality Ohio plans to fight the bill, Laura Hancock reports.
Trans-ban: U.S. Sen. JD Vance on Tuesday announced that hes introduced legislation that would make providing gender-affirming care to minors a federal Class C felony, punishable with a prison sentence of 10 to 25 years, Sabrina Eaton reports. The Cincinnati Republicans Protect Childrens Innocence Act also would block taxpayer funding for such procedures, including banning coverage of the treatments from Affordable Care Act insurance plans, stopping universities from providing instruction on gender-affirming care, and deeming noncitizens who have performed gender-affirming care on a minor ineligible to receive visas or admittance to the United States.

During his Senate campaign in July 2022, Vance told Mission America, a right-wing Christian organization based in Ohio, that he would oppose the Respect for Marriage Act, a bill to ensure federal marriage protections for same-sex and interracial marriages. Congress passed the legislation in fall 2022, and President Joe Biden signed it in December, before Vance was sworn in in January 2023.
Vance has also echoed false tropes increasingly used by conservatives to describe LGBTQ people and those who support them as groomers.
Ill stop calling people groomers when they stop freaking out about bills that prevent the sexualization of my children, Vance said on social media in April 2022.

This fucker was against the "Respect for Marriage Act" that codified the very "interracial marriage" that HE is in.
When he goes along with the racial insults against Kamala Harris, whose mother was from India JUST LIKE HIS WIFE, that type of shit needs to be pointed out and he needs to be ridiculed for not pushing back.
You might notice the difference in reactions between him "in drag" vs Ghouliani and even 45 "in drag" is BECAUSE of the hypocrisy.
He should be nowhere near the White House, let alone in any elected office.

It's the Handmaid's Tale vision he sees for America that is at odds with his own personal libertinism. Extra votes for him and couples with children but not for cross-dressers who are more likely to be childless.
It's that he feels he should be allowed to dabble in trans fantasies but deny people who have a real need to transition.

The law has yet to define specifically what "performance" an "entertainment" means. Is just dressing in drag and telling jokes at someone's house a performance and serve as entertainment? TN has yet define it.

There is nothing wrong with drag, but the MAGAts are freaked out by it. The MAGAs are racist White Nationalists and Vance's wife is a woman of color. There is nothing wrong with diversity, but MAGAts don't like diversity either. The real point is that Vance is a hypocrite. The MAGA people probably have buyers remorse when they see this sort of stuff which offends them, even if it is perfectly normal to us. Vance is a fake and a hypocrite. Anyway, cheap wig story:
One time the RG was away on a business trip and per our usual, I went to the airport to pick him up when he returned. He had warned me that I needed to look for him with a full head of hair: he had bought a wig.
I was crestfallen. I did not want a guy with a wig. A baldie is fine with me.
Arriving at the airport, I saw him standing with his luggage and a wig about the quality of this one. The whole thing had been a joke.
I was so relieved.

(172,351 posts)As loathsome as Ghouliani and 45 are - let alone in the above "skit" with Ghoul was "in drag" for of all things, "a charity event", Ghoul didn't call drag performers "groomers" like this hypocrite Vance has done.
I remember my 4 years in college at UMASS (which was always called "ZOOMASS" because of the antics of many of the students - especially at Halloween) and I have seen all kinds of costumes - including lewd and crude ones that students would put together.
Vance didn't have to select that for a costume. Why not dress up as a penis? I recall seeing one of those in college on Halloween night roaming around the campus with thousands of others while me and my dorm-mates were headed to the campus shuttle stop to go see "Rocky Horror Picture" show for the midnight showing at the mall.
