Officer faces murder charge in shooting of pregnant Black woman who was accused of shoplifting.

Source: AP

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio police officer was indicted Tuesday on murder and other charges in the shooting of Ta’Kiya Young, a 21-year-old pregnant Black mother who was killed after being accused of shoplifting last August.

Young was suspected of stealing bottles of alcohol when Blendon Township police officer Connor Grubb and a fellow officer approached her car. The other officer ordered her out. Instead, she rolled forward toward Grubb, who fired a single bullet through her windshield into her chest. The daughter she was expecting three months later also died.

A Franklin County grand jury indicted Grubb on charges of murder, involuntary manslaughter and felonious assault. He is scheduled to be arraigned in court Wednesday. A warrant for his arrest was issued as part of the indictment.

This poor woman was just allegedly shoplifting and got a death sentence by a cop. Judge, jury and executioner. RIP Ti'Kiya and baby.

Did they find the bottles? How about a receipt? The story doesn't say. All pregnant black women look alike, doncha know.

And who gets charged for murdering that unborn baby? The mom or the cop?

as shooting her wasn't the appropriate response under the circumstances. I wonder if he would have done the same thing if the woman had be white.

How do we know she rolled her car toward the officer. Who stated that? The officer? And what does rolling mean? Personally I need more information regarding rolling and who reported it. Plus why was the officer standing in front of her car. That seems kinda of stupid to me.
