Veteran self-publishes book on his experience at Jan. 6 riot -- and gets arrested

Source: The Independent

A self-published memoir on Amazon helped police catch a man who allegedly participated in the January 6 riots at the U.S. Capitol. Marine Corps veteran Nathan Thornsberry, 42, of North Branch, Michigan, was arrested on Thursday on felony charges of obstruction of law enforcement during a civil disorder and assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers.

Police found out about Thornsberry, who allegedly used his body to ram a police barrier separating the rioters from the Capitol, after the Flint, Michigan, FBI office got a tip he was behind a self-published book on Amazon about the insurrection.

The memoir, January 6: A Patriot’s Story, was published under a different name, Nathaniel Matthews, but police allege that it is Thornsberry who wrote it.

The biographical details in the about the author section match Thornsberry’s, they said, and a subpoena of Amazon records showed the account as registered under the name Nathan Thornsberry, with a phone number associated with a Facebook account of the same name.

The race is not always won by the swiftest. For all who were complaining on 1/7 that no one was locked up, I would say, there have been about 1800 arrests so far with over 900 people convicted or pleading guilty, this is what justice and accountability looks like.

the DAY AFTER the incident.

Umm... it takes time.

What about all these murders that are solved DECADES later?

People are murdered in the 1980s and 1990s, and their killers finally arrested and convicted 30+ years later.

i.E.

Jennifer Odom’s killer caught 30 years after she was kidnapped, murdered walking home from school bus: HCSO

That's just one. There are MANY, MANY, more like that in the last 5 or 10 years.

What about the Central Park Five, who we saw 4 out of 5 of them yesterday, on Day 4 of the DNC?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_Park_jogger_case

They were arrested and convicted (wrongly) of the crime and Dumpy the Clown took out a full page ad in the NYT calling for their executions. I saw that ad. Then the REAL PERPETRATOR was convicted more than a decade later.

(From that Wiki article):

More than a decade after the attack, while incarcerated for attacking five other women in 1989, serial rapist Matias Reyes confessed to the Meili assault [the last name of the woman jogger who was sexually assaulted] and claimed he was the only actor; DNA evidence confirmed his involvement. The convictions against McCray, Richardson, Salaam, Santana, and Wise were vacated in 2002; Lopez's convictions were vacated in July 2022.

They didn't even follow police procedure in the case.

(Again, from the article's Wiki):

Normal police procedures stipulated that the names of criminal suspects under the age of 16 were to be withheld from the media and the public. But this policy was ignored when the names of the arrested juveniles were released to the press before any of them had been formally arraigned or indicted. For example, the name of Kharey Wise (he later adopted the use of Korey as his first name) was published in an April 25, 1989, article in the Philadelphia Daily News about the attack on the female jogger.

They were then released years later. Dumpy refuses to admit he was wrong. He never will.

No arrests.

Missing from this analysis - the police force was overwhelmed.

Per the Justice Department:

"Nathan Thornsberry, 42, of North Branch, Michigan, is charged in a criminal complaint filed in the District of Columbia with a felony offense of obstruction of law enforcement during a civil disorder and assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers.

In addition to the felonies, Thornsberry is charged with four misdemeanor offenses, including Entering or Remaining in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly or disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds, act of physical violence in a restricted building or grounds, and disorderly or disruptive conduct in a Capitol building or grounds.

The FBI arrested Thornsberry in Davison, Michigan, and he made his initial appearance in the Eastern District of Michigan."

A complaint is merely an allegation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

On the other hand, I love how they’re so stupid that they commit own goals again and again!

Let’s take back words like Patriotism, Honor, We The People, and so on. I’m tired of them being corrupted like this.

Amazon follows up on subpoenas with the real name of the account holder, SSN info, address and phone number. By law it has to be your real name and info. Opening the account in a business name, despite what some think, makes no difference. Business names (usually LLCs) are listed and can be found by a subpoena to whatever state it was filed in.

Dude was surely a maroon, Bugs. First to even do it, then to write about it and finally to publish it.
