Former President George W. Bush has no plans to endorse in the election

Source: NBC News

Sept. 7, 2024, 3:18 PM EDT

Former President George W. Bush does not plan to endorse a candidate for president, his office told NBC News on Saturday.

When asked whether the former president or his wife, Laura, would endorse a candidate or make public how they will vote, Bush's office said "no." "President Bush retired from presidential politics years ago," the office added.

The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment. A spokesperson for Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign declined to comment but pointed to the campaign's Republican outreach efforts.

Bush's former vice president, Dick Cheney, announced on Friday that he would back Harris in the November election. "In our nation’s 248-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump," Cheney said in a statement. "He tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him. He can never be trusted with power again."

No offense but your "kind and decent man" waged an all out assault on American democracy in Florida in 2000 with the help of his little brother/Florida Governor and his Florida 2000 campaign co chair/Florida Secretary of State. Several hundred thousand legally cast Florida votes sit uncounted in the Florida archives. Your "kind and decent man" created the Presidential election theft road map that the orange turd is now using to again thwart the will of the people. In addition, your "kind and decent man" appointed Samuel Alito to the SCOTUS who is now the author of the horrid, forced birth Dobbs decision that's putting women's lives at risk.

That if Cheney, Romney, Bush, Rice, etc, would say they're voting for Harris, it would be giving permission for rational old school republicans to vote Harris as well. My brother, for one, (lives in Nebraska) is a really kind man. Does not like trump. Is all about properly funding the military. Is a solid team player. Kind of like Tim Walz, if he were a Republican. He just needs the right encouragement. Those people voting Harris might just do the trick.

Cheney’s endorsement is important because it gives permission to Republicans, like your brother, to drop Trump.

No one serious thinks much of W or his opinions. I doubt they ever did because they knew Cheney was the one running the show. I suspect W knows he’s a loser and just wants to live out his retirement in peace. Frankly, I’m glad I don’t have to hear about that war criminal too much.

Other than that, I’m all for reaching out to the non-brain dead Republicans and welcoming their vote for this election. I don’t expect Cheney or your brother to become Democrats, of course, but I’m impressed that there are Republicans who still want to protect.our Constitution and retain our democratic republic. We need two strong responsible parties to find the compromises necessary to manage this huge and diverse nation.

I'd like to say go fuck yourself
But that is much too kind
If you could perform that feat
You'd take pleasure in your behind

I'd tell you to eat shit and die
But you deserve much more
You should suffer all the grief and pain
Of your misbegotten war

Though I could never make you think
Or feel, or understand
I'll take solace when you hear your name
Cursed throughout the land

From inside a lonely jail cell
Dark and bare and cold
Where every day you pay for your crimes
Until you're sick, heartbroken, and old

When you finally leave this Earth
You fucked over oh so well
If there is a God and afterlife
You're going straight to Hell.

Dick Cheney (correctly) referred to Trump as an "unrecoverable catastrophe". Although technically sane, Cheney and his sidekick president will certainly not go down in history as having made the world a better and safer place.

95. I agree that the DOJ dropped the ball on that one

Sadly there was no Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House who could launch a U.S. House investigation to shame the DOJ into doing its job lie there was after 1/6/21. The "Brooks Brothers" rioters are the tip of the iceberg of who should be held accountable. Another example is the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights referring Jeb and Harris to the DOJ for prosecution for the illegal "felon" purge and that went no where as well. The list goes on from there.

That Gore STILL WON BY A HAIR.

Felonious scotus had no business overruling the florida Supreme Court on a states voting issue.
And that ruling was a pile of steaming shit.

The uncounted Florida votes that sit in the Florida archives tell the ugly truth that Al Gore is the rightful winner of the 2000 election. The Brooks Brothers riot that Roger Stone was also involved in was just the tip of the iceberg of what really happened. It was an all out assault on American democracy by the Bush brothers and their cronies on so many levels. I think about the uncounted Florida votes almost every day. FYI, even Scalia called what the Rehnquist 5 did, "shit".O'Connor admitted in 2013 that they should never have taken the case. Our country suffers so terribly today because of it and it'll really never be the same because of it.
