Vice President Kamala Harris campaign is directly invoking special counsel Jack Smiths investigation to attack former President Donald Trump, in a new ad provided first to POLITICO.
We knew it was bad. But its worse than we thought. Much worse than we thought, reads the ad, between videos of the attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6, as Trumps past comments play in the background. We fight like hell. If we dont fight like hell, were not going to have a country anymore, Trumps voice can be heard saying in the ad.
Its a rare attack from the Harris campaign. While Harris and President Joe Biden before her have discussed the events of Jan. 6 on the campaign trail, Harris campaign has rarely made these attacks in paid advertisements. The digital ad will air in battleground states starting Sunday.
The ad comes after new developments from Smiths investigation were detailed in a 165-page filing last week. Prosecutors charge that Trump attempted to hold onto power after he lost in 2020. Smiths prosecutors wrote that the defendant launched a series of increasingly desperate plans to overturn the legitimate election results.

(173,116 posts)It actually has quotes taken from Jack Smith's filings, which only came out last week - the biggest one being 45's "So what?" remark regarding Mike Pence being threatened.
