Fetterman won't rule out backing Hegseth as he becomes first Senate Democrat to meet with him
Source: CNN
Democratic Sen. John Fetterman said he expects to bring up a series of allegations against Donald Trumps pick to lead the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, when the two men sit down for their first meeting later Thursday.
I know there havent been any formal charges or criminal ones. But its all - one of the things that Im sure perhaps might come up in that conversation today, Fetterman told CNN, when asked about allegations including excessive drinking and sexual assault. But I am aware there are some allegations, of course.
Notably, Fetterman is not ruling out support for Hegseth ahead of his meeting, which will make him the first Senate Democrat to sit down with Trumps defense pick.
Asked about his expectations for the meeting, Fetterman told CNN: Were just going to have a straight-up conversation.

(671 posts)I am disappointed.
I could see him basically saying I am willing to talk with anyone and try to go in with an open mind. But if he actually votes for him, I will be more than disappointed.

Their goal is a theocratic government, ruling the entire world.

(10,478 posts)to a point, but supporting Hegseth puts him permanently on my No Fly list. Hegseth is unqualified even without all the extracurricular behavior. There's NO reason for a Democratic senator to support a totally unqualified Republican Cabinet pick. Talk about being part of the problem!!!!

(26,115 posts)Hegseth is the worst of the worst, if Fetterman supports him then he is not living up to his Democratic label and does not support women's right to bodily autonomy and not being raped!
