WASHINGTON, Jan 23 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump said his conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping last week was friendly and he thought he could reach a trade deal with China.

"It went fine. It was a good, friendly conversation," Trump said of his call with Xi in an interview with Fox News aired on Thursday evening.

"I can do that," Trump said in the interview when asked if he could make a deal with China over fair trade practices.

Trump said he would rather not use tariffs against China but called tariffs a "tremendous power."

3. Trade Deal?

WTF is he talking about? There are already “deals” in place. He’s got fucking “deals” on his mind, like he’s gonna renege on agreements with China like he cheats his employees and vendors.

This act is just old. What he wants to do—like in his first term—is announce deals, then no deals, then deals again and enrich his buddies in the stock market who he tips off on advance. Market goes up—they cash in. Market goes down—they cash in. Until there’s no cash left.

I don't say this to make light of age-related cognitive decline so I hope this is not taken that way, but I've seen people at the stage he's at, and my guess Trump doesn't have a lot more time left before it's undeniable he's in significant mental decline. I'd be surprised if he makes many public speaking appearances after about 2 years from now.
