'You are making it hard for us!' Black Americans for Trump member rips president on CNN

A clearly frustrated GOP strategist and member of Black Americans for Trump Coalition lashed out at the man he helped elect on CNN on Saturday morning.
It took less than two weeks in office for Donald Trump to exasperate Melik Abdul, who complained on Saturday that the president is making life difficult for Black voters who supported his second re-election bid. During an appearance on CNN's "Table for Five," with host Abby Phillip, Abdul jumped into a conversation about the president blaming the tragic Washington D.C. plane crash on DEI policies without evidence but not to defend Trump.
Noting that there have been questions raised about a female pilot who was on the Black Hawk chopper that collided with the airliner, Abdul explained, "I call it the woke right, on the right, who are were literally saying that, I think the male pilot had 1000 hours, the female, this phantom female pilot had 500 hours of training time. They don't know anything about what the requirements are. They don't know how long that person had been in service."
"Donald Trump appealing to these people in his second week, when we're not talking about the economy, we're not talking about any of that," he complained. "We're talking about DEI and he [Trump] had no evidence and people are out there defending it." "I'm not going to get on television to defend it," he exclaimed "I want Donald Trump to know you are making it hard for us who are not looking for a payout or some sort of association, or the social media influence behind supporting Donald Trump or any politician."

... he is noticing increased grievances with the Democratic party in his own community, particularly with those opposed to the liberal agenda. He said many Somalis hold conservative religious and family values that have more in common with Republicans than Democrats.
. . . that they were sick of the status quo and of feeling taken for granted by the Democrats.
and much more such at the link. Including a couple nasty tRump comments about Somalis, e.g. that Minnesota had "suffered enough" for taking in thousands of Somali refugees.

(69,520 posts)Somehow I never see the Republican Party offering to give asylum to refugees. It's the Democratic Party and liberals who fight for refugee rights and aid.
Once they're here, they decide the Democrats haven't done enough for them.
This makes me mad.

(12,525 posts)When asked why he was jumping to a DEI conclusion without evidence, the most incompetent president in our history said, "Common sense," which is to say, it's perfectly obvious to him that white males are inherently superior, and anyone else as a pilot or traffic controller puts the public in danger. He's giving his cult permission to thumb their noses at "political correctness" and be as bigoted as they want in what they say. This trumper missed something important (and rather obvious) if he didn't notice that part of the MAGA agenda is to Make Bigotry Great Again, but he should expect more of it.

(1,236 posts)DEI Outrage in MAGA World is nonsense.
Trump does not possess a rational mind.
He has prejudices and no amount of evidence will change his mind.
When Obama reformed healthcare, it was not the initial plan to forbid lifetime limits.
But that became part of the ACA and it saved lives including mine being a lymphoma survivor.
A rational mind changes based on new information.

If Trump had been successful in repeal of ACA, it would have put my health at risk.
Lymphoma returned in 2019; I went through 4 different treatments over 2 years; all failed.
The fifth treatment was a success in part due to ban on lifetime limits.

(91 posts)White people, black people, Asian, Hispanic, and other people who put this fascist liar in power have no ethical right to complain. The lot of them should first acknowledge the awful mistake they made, they should recant their foolishness, and they should refrain from commenting any further. If asked about the people they supported, the should be limited to one response, "I f***ed up/"

(69,520 posts)I'm guessing that this man supported Trump because he thought he would help the economy. And now he's disappointed that Trump is blathering about DEI.
But that's what Trump does! He's totally irrational and extreme, not good for the economy, and he constantly blathers about DEI.

(10,025 posts)"First, do no harm". Thwarting a reactionary political agenda in the face of an installed SCOTUS and (at best) divided Congress can very well be the best course of action. Enacting legislation meeting the Constitutional intents of promoting the common good and general welfare also need to be front-and-center. However, burning down the "system" in hope that a more responsive government will ensue is nothing short of a fool's folly.

I know, I will vote for Trump! He is sure to do much better for me! After all, he promised, and couldn't do any worse!
And then they voted, and then . . . things got worse. Much worse. Bigly worse! The best worse you have ever seen, believe me!
